After next entry Saints Row to "continue in a different direction" | Gamereactor UK

GR-UK writes: "Is this the end of the Saints Row series as it currently stands? The design director revealed to us that the series may continue, but this particular strand will be concluding in Saints Row IV: "We're definitely considering Saints Row IV sort of the end of that saga of this character and the Saints as they are. So if there's any more future Saints Rows - which you know we always hope there will be, we hope there's fans for future games like that - they will probably continue in a different direction." (E3, PC, PS3, Saints Row 4, Xbox 360)

Next Saints Row to "continue in a different direction"
Well that's an understatement...

it's the same, with a crap direction

Or you could reboot it for next gen and actually stay true to what SR was all about.

SR4 looks awful, so bad that I think it's aimed at 11 year-old pre-pubescent children. That's what crosse my mind when I saw the trailer with aliens, super heroes, dance moves and ridiculous costumes. What's more? It's in the same city.

oh yes, I completely forgot that this was originally supposed to be DLC. That is one of my problems, the other is that they have the nerve to release this just before the big boy: GTA:V as if they know their series is junk and won't sell after big boy V is out. Oh, I also find it a joke that they've changed the numbering into Roman numerals like GTA. I think they really want their joke of a game to beat GTA - it never will.

Further adding to the "this game is made for kids" argument just look at the name of the special edition: 'super wub wub edition'. Really?

You know why it's in the same city without any changes....because this is DLC and I wish more people would click onto that

It's glorified DLC they were going to sell but kept back because they knew new consoles were coming out and thought they would get one more retail game out because starting a true SR4 wouldn't be done in time.

These changes were made to make the series stand out instead of making a run of the mill gta clone.

Maybe they'll go back to the gangs and continue the true story from SR2.
