ProspectusNews: "“The Last of Us” is the latest game created by developers “Naughty Dog.” The game is a brand new survival-horror adventure from the people who made “Uncharted” and “Jak and Daxter,” and is darker than their past games.""
I remember Crash Bandicoot. I remember Jak and Daxter. I will remember The Last of Us. Can't wait to remember ND's next-gen games. It's definitely my favourite studio ever, and TLOU is now in my Top 5 games of all time (hint, even in the Top 3).
but can't remember Uncharted 2? GTFO!
I wanted to choose only one game per generation lol. But I won't ever forget the Uncharted series, that's for sure.
Uncharted 2 = MEH Last of Us = GOLD
@ xPhearR3dx, you must be joking right? Both games are Gold.
@FlameHawk No. I couldn't wait to finish Uncharted 2 just so it would be over. It was very bland and blah. The Last of Us on the other hand, incredible. Already on my third playthrough and still not even close to being done with this game.
@xphearr3dx even though i disagree nothing wrong with having opinions i just want to say it's awesome how ppl who hate Uncharted games are in love with TLOU really show how much different uncharted games from TLOU
@xPhearR3dx The Last of Us is great but it didn't wow me anywhere near as much as Uncharted 2 did back when it first came out. That's how good UC2 was to me.
I differentiate my favorite and just best game. Best game PS1 = FF Tactics PS2 = Persona 4 PS3 = The Last of US
Mine is PS1 = Final Fantasy 7,Crash Bandicoot and Chrono Trigger PS2 = Persona 4, Final Fantasy 10 and Final Fantasy 12 PS3 = Uncharted Series, The Last of US,La Noire and Red Dead Redemption. PSP = Final Fantasy Crisis Core and God of War Chain of Olympus PS Vita = Persona 4 Golden and Little Big Planet as of now.
@chestnut Come on man don't be a cheater and pick only one.
But but but, I can't Those Games I mention were all Gold and Gems:( I can't pick 1 since they're all Equal to me :)
thanks to activision we will never see Crash again from ND unless sony by the IP once more
Great game. Deeply enjoyed it on my PS3. Up there with Uncharted 2, Demon's Soul and Vakyria Chronicles as one of my favorite exclusives on the console.
good game but too over-rated right now. it's not close to my favorite games this generation.
Name me a game better than "The Last of US" would You?
To be fair, no matter how many people agree that TLoU is perfect, it will never be a fact. RIP_Cell could literally list any game as better than TLoU and be right, since it would be his or her opinion. With that being said, TLoU is way over-rated at the moment. The more high review scores, "once in a generation" comments and praise for whatever else it does right, will only force the game to live up to ever higher expectations.
I dunno about better but Dark/Demon Souls took me longer to complete and I had more fun doing it! Even though 1 is a scripted game and other is sandbox"ish"
Opinions aren't right just because they're opinions. Actually, because they're not fact, they can and are frequently wrong. Yes, it's his opinion, but as it's not a fact, it can definitely be wrong, just as anything else that isn't a fact can be wrong. Now, with that out of the way, a game is only overrated if it DOESN'T live up to expectations. All the high praise and 10s indicate that the game lives up to or exceeds those expectations, so how can it be overrated? Granted, just as there are many who will think the game is superb, there will always be those who don't think as highly of it. I don't want to say that it's unimportant, but if that opinion is in the extreme minority, then the general consensus says the game is NOT overrated.
Dark Souls/Demon's Souls, Arkham City, Portal 2, Fallout 3, Witcher 2, Bioshock 1/Infinite, Mass Effect 1/2, like I said I think TLOU is a good game, just not on top of my list. I don't care what the "general consensus" is, it's over-rated to me. I also don't care what the general consensus of Justin Bieber is or how many awards he wins, he's not my favorite musician.
@Admiralvic Relax, I am just asking Him/Her Opinion which game from His/Her list is better than The Last Of Us.
Said the same thing about Heavy Rain ya know...just saying. lol game whores
isn't that a good thing? just when you think certain one game is the greatest the next one comes out to just blow it away. these kind of events are good for gamers because we keep getting great games.
I am merely making light of the fact that several games has achieved what TLOU has this generation but now its as if TLOU is the only of its kind. Old man pumping fist theory I guess...
Several games have not achieved what TLOU has. Several games were, at the time, the greatest of the generation. But as the generation went on, they were surpassed by greater games. Ever heard of "for its time?" Yeah, this is that sort of thing.
Crash Bandicoot With Nate. Crash Bandicoot was a Childhood Hero. If there is still a Crash Bandicoot and also Jax and Daxter which can compete against the likes of Mario Games like Mario Kart,, Sony will even Get more sales for the Ps3 nor Vita.. Nate is the Current Hero for PS3 and The Last of Us would forever be remembered as of the Few Best Games of the Generations. All Made by the Mysterious and One of kind Developer Naughty Dog. I am now looking forward to what will Naughty Dog will offer us with the PS4.
i was little worried when in earlier days ND was talking about how they'll be trying to change the way "zombie" games are played. it was going to be a huge task and i was little not so sure. but after reading reviews and listening to friends saying how great the games are... i'm glad they succeeded. i'm probably getting my PS3 back from repair shop today... can't wait to play this game.
Make sure you put your life on hold when you're ready to play. It's going to be hard to stop. I really hope they make a sequel, or at least another game in the same universe.
wow never thought you would like it that much because i know that you were never a fan of ND's UC games and now based on your comments it look like this game is your GOTG or one of the best ever you see something new every day haha
@Ezz2013 It's one of them. I get bored with stories in video games rather quickly, so it's rare when I actually care and I'm deeply involved in it. There's only three games off the top of my head like that. Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption and now The Last of Us.
The Last of Us is a very great game, but I wouldn't call it the game of this Generation. If anything, it is part of a few games that claim that right. It is up there with Bioshock, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2, Skyrim, Mass Effect 2, Red Dead; It's just part of this God-like Tier. Where you just have to play that game no matter what. It has that aura of wanting to play it no matter what genre or system (like Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4, and HALO from last generation) Edit: I didn't add any games that seem to be made for the PC because the PC has no generation. It's a platform that just evolves. (games like Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Portal, Half-Lfe, Fall Out: New Vegas)
you know what so great about your comment even though it's my GOTG ?! you still put it as one of the best games this gen that's how awesome it is
Fantastic game!! I really didn't want it to end but sadly it had to. One of the only games that truly hooked me from start to finish and I honestly enjoyed every minute of it!! Not only is it my game of the year but it is my favourite game of all time and I really hope Naughty Dog makes a sequel!!
True, i'm actually surprised how much times i've replayed the story and i still obtain enjoyment from it.
Unfortunately the article is right. TLOU is a once in a generation gaming experience. It's a shame we do't get many games that hit the stratosphere, like TLOU, but still nonetheless great great games. At least there are lots and lots of people that will get to experience TLOU. I would rather experience 1 masterpiece a generation, then none at all.
