The Co-op Podcast 53: Why The Only Option Right Now Is PS4

Gary at TheKoalition writes:
Myself, Richard Bailey and host Edward Velasquez return with guests Anthony Frasier and Thomas Chamberlain for another episode of The Co-op Podcast. This week we touched on Edge magazine's rather bold front cover which reads: "Why The Only Option Right Now Is PS4". Is this just fanboy flamebait, or is there actual substance to the message they are putting out?

We also spoke in length about Don Matrick's departure from Microsoft, and why he may have chosen Zynga as his new home. Was Microsoft's decision to change their DRM policies part of the reason for his departure? Or could this move have planned way in advance? (Battlefield 4, PC, PS3, PS4, TitanFall, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Price, specs, size, class, less restrictive, 1st party, indies, PS+, more games in development and is entirely focused on gaming while treating you w/ the respect you deserve for supporting them.
warewolfSS  +   698d ago
Dude are you serious or just kidding about getting treated with respect? Their a company. Get your head checked.
flipflopfacts  +   698d ago
How about not treating their consumers like criminals. Does that DRM they tried to placed on that Xbox one jog your memory?

While expecting Sony to feed all the homeless of the world is a bit far-fetched, there are plenty of companies out there who respect their consumers and treat them well ... If you think thats a foreign concept you are buying from the wrong companies.
MariaHelFutura  +   698d ago
Why does everyone say that? Of course they're a company. Some do business differently, like Kashi and Mcdonalds.

I'll give you an example of the respect I'm talking about still ran within a business structure.

-PS4 not making you buy a camera like the Xbox

-PS+ vs. XBL.

-Microsoft trying to restrict everything, while Sony didn't.

@flipflopfacts
Does Sony's DRM on cds jog your memory? Most companies will push to see what they can get away with. Besides, I am pretty sure the DRM was not based so much about people being criminals, but recouping used sales. Not sure why anybody who does not have stock in a company would have such crazy and blind loyalty. I got my ps4 already locked, but still consider their business practice. Were we not treated like criminals when the other os ability was removed from the ps3. A featured you advertised to sell your system, you just up and removed.

@joecanada: "There are plenty of companies out there who respect their consumers and treat them well ... If you think thats a foreign concept you are buying from the wrong companies."

Love this statement! I find it funny that it's Microsoft fanboys that continually are the ones saying corporations don't care about you and are only after your money. I wonder why they feel this way.

Customer satisfaction can be an integral part of a firms business model. I don't know why some idiots believe that its impossible to achieve this while maintaining decent profit margins.

Bottom line not every firm is like Microsoft there are some firms who care about costumer satisfaction because if their customers are satisfied than they are more likely to buy their products.

I am soooo fking sick and tired of people like you spouting 'bu bu Sony's a company too that only cares about money'.

If you can't spot the difference in how MS and sony treat their customers then you're choosing to be deliberately stupid.
jeffgoldwin  +   698d ago
lol size? are you planning on velcroing it to your hip and playing on the go?

Microsoft can eat a bag of dicks, I'm not supporting a company that tried to shove so much BS on its consumers and only backpedaled when its ass was handed to them in pre-order numbers. PS4WiiU for me.
jeffgoldwin  +   698d ago
So how do u feel about mandatory paid online on ps4. ooooo do they still respect you after sleeping with yur women and clearing out your checking account?

the PS4 is Unbeteable, too much Power
jeffgoldwin  +   698d ago
Except that any $600+ pc will have better graphics than ps4 using laptop conponents (except for the overkill on ram, ill give it that much).

Not to mention 6 months from now on release. I guess your definition of "unbeatable" is pretty limited.

I like having all options. I'm really excited about what each company has lined up through the rest of the year, including Nintendo.
