State of Decay multiplayer DLC "is looking unlikely right now", admits Undead Labs

OXM UK: "Undead Labs once dreamed of releasing a multiplayer component for XBLA hit State of Decay, but the odds are increasingly against it, the developer's Sanya Weathers has confessed on Twitter." (State of Decay, Xbox 360)

I really don't understand this at all. Undead Labs was totally up-front about the fact that this was going to be a single-player game - did these people buy the game thinking it was going to have multiplayer? It's like buying milk and then complaining that it should come with cereal.
