Shortly after thatgamecompany revealed that they’re finally receiving royalties for Journey on PS3, Jenova Chen, Co-Founder and Creative Director at thatgamecompany, told The Telegraph that “it seems like the Journey sales are not going away.” Considering that it constantly shows up in the top 10 every month, and it goes on sale often, they probably won’t go away for some time. - PSLS

Journey was worth the wait, so they can take all the time they need.

MS will miss on some very good Indie games if they don't change their policies,I don't see them giving ThatGameCompany any kind of special treatment

Yeah, I would rather have quality over quantity.

I agree with you but only to an extent. This time they are working from their own back pockets, not Sony's. The budget will be whatever money they have left and what ever money rolls in from Journey, Flower and Flow sales.

This means they may not have the luxury to take 2-3 years to make a game since every hour that passes, staff on the team must be paid. Considering they almost went broke whilst having support and a budget from Sony whilst making Journey, it worries me what they will do if they run out of finances this time.

Hopefully he doesn't financially run the company into the ground again.Sony won't be there to hold his hand as the publisher anymore.

He has some good ideas and is relentless in achieving them, but apparently he is a nightmare of a guy to work with - in a leadership position i mean.

No wonder a lot of the key staff left.Hope their next game does okay.

The fact they're going multiplatform and actually making Journey money should mean they'll stay in budget.

thatgamecompany can do no wrong... except didn't the band kind of break up recently?

Myst3942d ago

I had no idea they were going multi-platform, this is great news for gamers who have yet to experience their games.

Finding Solace in 'Journey'

BY JOHN: As winter approaches, I find myself searching out "cozy" games that I can play when I need a break from the high-octane action and intense competition found in most modern games.  If you're feeling a little jaded by mini-maps covered in icons and a list of quests and side-quests a mile long, I have the perfect game for you.  A serene masterpiece for those looking for a port in the storm.

That game is Journey.
