thatgamecompany Talks Journey Death Threats, PS Vita Port, Journey Sales, the PS4, and Much More

Shortly after thatgamecompany revealed that they’re finally receiving royalties for Journey on PS3, Jenova Chen, Co-Founder and Creative Director at thatgamecompany, told The Telegraph that “it seems like the Journey sales are not going away.” Considering that it constantly shows up in the top 10 every month, and it goes on sale often, they probably won’t go away for some time. - PSLS (Journey, PC, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, thatgamecompany, Xbox One)

Journey was worth the wait, so they can take all the time they need.

MS will miss on some very good Indie games if they don't change their policies,I don't see them giving ThatGameCompany any kind of special treatment

Yeah, I would rather have quality over quantity.

I agree with you but only to an extent. This time they are working from their own back pockets, not Sony's. The budget will be whatever money they have left and what ever money rolls in from Journey, Flower and Flow sales.

This means they may not have the luxury to take 2-3 years to make a game since every hour that passes, staff on the team must be paid. Considering they almost went broke whilst having support and a budget from Sony whilst making Journey, it worries me what they will do if they run out of finances this time.

Hopefully he doesn't financially run the company into the ground again.Sony won't be there to hold his hand as the publisher anymore.

He has some good ideas and is relentless in achieving them, but apparently he is a nightmare of a guy to work with - in a leadership position i mean.

No wonder a lot of the key staff left.Hope their next game does okay.

The fact they're going multiplatform and actually making Journey money should mean they'll stay in budget.

I had no idea they were going multi-platform, this is great news for gamers who have yet to experience their games.

"Our next game won't be exclusive to any single platform, but it could be on one console".

Why no Wii U?

Article says Xbox is not getting it

Wish the stayed PS exclusive. Sony needs to buy them.

I would rather not have a port of Journey on the Vita if it will be handed off once again to another developer. I am getting really sick of developers saying and doing that.

It has not turned out well at all, all these ports and games handled by other people are terrible for the most part. They can't even get PS2 games working properly.. Why even waste the time and money then with people who aren't going to do the project the justice it deserves.

but limbo on vita is good almost as good as the console versions and it was done by double eleven ^_^

i agree that some devs who port games to vita are lazy

Journey was a game that reminded me why games really are art in motion. One of a kind in a plethora of AAA titles, milked franchises, cliched FPSs, and mobile games.
