PC Elitists Are Clueless, The Elder Scrolls Online Belongs On Consoles

CCC says: "ESO was originally slated for a PC-only release, but E3 2013 brought the news that the game will be available on PS4 and Xbox One as well. It also became known that the initial Q4, 2013 release date had been pushed back to “Spring 2014,” presumably as padding for the newly announced versions of the game. The announcement was incredibly abrupt, and, unsurprisingly, many fans and followers were suddenly out in droves, hell-bent on proving the inadequacy of next-gen systems in comically witch-trial fashion."

I find comments like "PC Elitists" or "PC master race" quite funny, specially made by fanboys that moan all day that their console is faster, has better specs, better graphics then other consoles. How many articles do we see every day that in some form or another compare consoles or accessories? What should we call them...

Sony master race ?
Sony elitists ?

As for PC gamers complaining about the delay of the game because of the console versions... EVERYBODY complains if a game is delayed in their system of choice because of other systems. There are countless examples of that happening. It happened a few months back with Rayman being delayed on the WiiU because of other systems.

And I wonder on which platform "The Elder Scrolls"
series started on...

I thought PC Elitists were saying the game looks like crap

wannabe gamer1841d ago

only the ignorant ones that think everything has to be uber grafix and over 120 fps to be considered legit. aka dumb_sses

The game doesn't look like crap. Most MMOs have well below average visuals compared to the other modern day PC games. I think it actually looks decent considering this fact.

This game does look like crap, compared to average MMO's out there. Not only that, but the combat is in the same roots as Skyrim, archaic and not engaging at all.

They pretty much stripped an Elder Scrolls game, then made it even less interesting.

I find PC master race people funny thinking that the PC is the only and ultimate gaming system that is in every way better, and I have a good PC and enjoy playing games on it just like I enjoy playing them on consoles.

Then again they are no different then any hardcore Nintendo, Sony or MS fanboys.

Well it is.

The negative view you have toward pc gaming is not the hardware. But the people.

As a long time MMO gamer I don't think ESO belongs on consoles because for a deep and engaging combat experience, you need a lot of skills and controllers just aren't suitable for that. WoW is probably the best example of a great combat system with varied engaging moves.. there is noway you could play that on a controller. I don't think this makes me a PC elitist, it just means I'm objectively weighing up the downsides of console MMOs.

In theory you could for the most part. You could use the 4 shoulder buttons as triggers to switch between sets and the 4 face buttons and D-Pad for the skills. That way you would have 4 sets with 8 skills each, giving you 32 slots for skills. You would need to memorize very well what is where but you need to do that on the keyboard as well. I had my main skills assigned to my mouse buttons for tanking.

There would be ways to adapt it to a controller it wouldn't be very mainstream as it would be a rather complex thing but not impossible.

papashango1841d ago

not impossible. but not practical.

Yep.

I was interested in elder scrolls until they announced it for consoles. And its not cause I don't like consoles cause the PS3 an Sony exclusives are great. I'm a long time MMO player an have been in it for years since The Realm Online and Ultima Online an been on WoW since launch an still enjoy it.

I played DC universe on the PS3 an I have to just say MMO's on consoles simply Do not work. Specifically RPGs cause a shooter MMO like destiny probably will work. But RPGs just wouldn't function an no MMORG on console has proved to be a massive success as yet an with good reason.
