Daylight PS4 gameplay footage brings even more survival horror to next-gen

Here’s a nervy eight minutes of Daylight’s PS4 gameplay. It’s first-person, procedurally generated and so dark that you can forget about playing it on a sunny day unless you’ve got your grandparents’ blackout curtains hung up. (Daylight, PC, PS4)

Would've been creepier without them talking the whole vid.....

the cell idea is kinda cool but i hope they thought of charging it from time to time or the game would lose all purpose in my eyes.
i like things that are thought in all details, and i just wish they thought about all consequences of chosing a cell phone.

That's a good point actually.

Also, the game leaves a lot to be desired visually; this could be running on PS3 and we would be none the wiser. But I guess, its all about how effectively it delivers the scares. Look at Slender for example.

Or if a little more happened other than procedurally generated bed frames, boarded up doors, and silly looking ghosts.

That is what I freaking hate. This is a game that we need to hear.

Until Dawn, right? I'm totally waiting for that game, as well. I remember reading on IGN that the game is still happening aaaaaand found the link!

It's possible that Until Dawn will be coming out on PS4 instead of PS3.

That is one immaculate beard.Mine pales in comparison.
>Dat beard envy

Game sounds amazing tho.Japanese style horror influence? Thank you.So tired of the crazy guy trying to kill me = scary mentality.

Really hope Horror and RPG's are big next gen.I don't think i could take another 10 years of constant First person shooters.

I know graphics aren't everything but damn this game is not a looker. Hopefully it will be a PS+ free game so I can gives it a go.
RyanShutup  +   731d ago
Yeah it's a F2P title, so you'll def be able to give it a go without plopping down money ;)
Studio-YaMi  +   731d ago
The graphics are fine, this game is build with Unreal Engine 4,so it IS/WILL be next gen.
jivah  +   731d ago
Just because its built with a next gen engine doesn't mean it cant visually still look like crap. And the graphics being fine is completely subjective to you.
Human Analog  +   731d ago
I hope it an early build of the game. The hand animations, and textures look atrocious. Why would someone go into an abandoned asylum, and not bring a flashlight? When carrying the flair or glow stick the doors open but not by your hands. I would like to think that with the next gen power they could animate that. And on top of that. Why are there flairs in a medicine cabinet? The "game" looks more like a tech demo for the lighting.

Forget about the game, that's an epic beard.
megalonagyix  +   731d ago

buynit  +   731d ago
Does the hand have to be their for ever Door?!

You would think about the hand can reach out and open the door by now..

metalgod88  +   731d ago
I was thinking the same thing. Doesn't seem very..next gen if an invisible third hand reaches out and opens every door. lol.
Red_eyes_Gremlin  +   731d ago
He had me @ "psychological horror and Twisted"
Silent Hill 2 any one?

This gonna be epic , first day by for me !
metalgod88  +   731d ago
Daylight: Door Opening Simulator. Seriously, is there anything I should be afraid in this game? "NOOO! The door won't open! NOOOOOOOOOOOO."
