Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures Not Coming To Xbox One Out Of Principle

Gaming Blend "The side-scrolling, hard-as-a-turtle shell, rage-inducing platformer is a labor of love by FreakZone Games but it's not coming to one specific game console... the Xbox One. “Why?” You ask in a tone that obviously indicates you don't see where this is going. Well, young padawan, it's because FreakZone is self-publishing Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures and that, in Microsoft's book of video game law, is a crime against digital nature." (Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures, PC, Wii U, Xbox One)

That's fine to me.

I thought the game looked boring in the first place. I mean really... You make a game based on a guy who just complains about games.

I'll stick to playing good indie games. You know, like Don't Starve and Hotline Miami.
UnHoly_One  +   689d ago
I'll stick to playing great Indie games like... um... well...

Oh that's right, I don't think I've ever liked an Indie game.
HumanAfterAll  +   689d ago
So why are you telling me?
UnHoly_One  +   689d ago
Just making a stupid joke, and this seemed like the place to put it.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend.

Try Journey. Or Minecraft. You'll like them.
UnHoly_One  +   688d ago
Minecraft just isn't my thing. I get why people like it, but I just don't have the creativity to build stuff like that. And I can't stay interested in a game like that for long anyway without a clear goal to give me direction.

Journey I tried the demo and just totally didn't get it at all.

MICROSOFT... DA, DA, DA, ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!! AND ANOTHER ONE DOES, ANOTHER ONE DOES, ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!!! boy, when alot of main stream publishers start going the THQ route, MICROSOFT JUST MIGHT AS WELL CLOSE UP SHOP AND

Self publishing... such a touchy subject.
Cmk0121  +   689d ago
OH how im sad some crap game isnt coming to xbox one...what is going on N4G? this is just shameful allowing these redic articles.
IcicleTrepan  +   689d ago
I assume it's mostly Sony people that don't own an Xbox 360 that think the self publishing is a great idea. If they could only see the mass of crap that floods the indie section of xbox live you would understand why they don't want just anyone making a game and sticking it up there. Clone upon clone upon clone of any remotely successful game, and a bunch of garbage games that nobody wants. 500 'games' that turn your rumble enabled controller into a massager aka dildo.
TheTwelve  +   689d ago
You know what you do with those crap games?

You don't buy them.

Word of mouth and recommendation ensures that only the best games get bought.

I think it is healthy to like big publisher, "AAA" games and still be open to playing games by people who are talented but would normally not get the time of day.

Indie gaming is the nuts and bolts of what gaming is all about.

And how, exactly, do you know this game is going to be crap?

Have you played it? Oh, right, it hasn't been released yet.

Or are you just one of those people that think all indie games are crap just because they're not AAA games?

Also, you fail to see the underlying point here. This isn't the only indie dev that will pass on the Xbox One, many others will do the same, because Microsoft isn't allowing them to self-publish these games on their consoles, whereas Sony and Nintendo do.

That's why you see a fuckton of indie games already announced for the PS4 and Wii U, whereas the Xbox One almost doesn't have any of those in comparison.

Obviously I don't have much to go off of, but from the game footage I've seen, it looks like a crafty and funny little side scroller. Definitely worth checking out.

A lot of the people writing it off are people generally do not like James Rolfe and his AVGN character; the kind of people who threw a fit because he asked for donations to make his feature film.
SlapHappyJesus  +   689d ago
Really missed out on a gem there - standard old-school style platformer, probably drenched in poop jokes.
Sorry, Xbox fans.
YNWA96  +   689d ago
Its just free advertising... the game will no doubt be awful... a good reason why MS does not want crap released on its box....
rataranian  +   689d ago
..Yeah cause you'll never see advertising on an xbox. =\
