Jon from DC writes: Recently E3 concluded, and with its conclusion came a better understanding of where this next console generation is headed. One particularly noteworthy thing I picked up on was how important this upcoming generation will be to the evolution of our most beloved interactive medium. For the first time ever, console manufacturers aren’t making a play for the same market. Sony is trying to lock down the quintessential gamer; Nintendo has elected to pull itself out of direct competition with Sony and Microsoft, and is instead focusing on retaining its loyal following; and Microsoft is making a play for the future of home entertainment with a box that purports to be everything to everyone. But there was something suspiciously absent from the narrative that was being formed during E3. What about PC?
