Enslaved Odyssey To The West is loosely based on Journey To The West, which is generally considered to be one of the four greatest classical Chinese novels. A rather interesting way of looking at it. You certainly get points for at least not taking the "Alex Garland wrote it so it's great" route I've seen from so many others.

When it comes to Pyramid and that whole area of discussion, I'm still at ends with it. The philosophical stuff is "there," but it's all just text dump at the very end. When trying to expound on the entrampment/freedom motif, you should have the bigger picture more ingrained with everything going on (beyond the quick shots from the mask collectibles). I want to hear richer fables about what Monkey and Trip believe happened, foreshadowing occurring more often, etc.
