Hello, Gamindustri people and all those that come after! Fans of Compile Heart’s well-liked Hyperdimension Neptunia series are in for some exciting news. The renowned “Re;Birth” trilogy’s PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch ports were just announced by the company.
VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "There aren't many developers out there that can really say they got their start on PlayStation handhelds, but Felistella is one such example. Formed from the remnants of Flight-Plan (the company responsible for the Summon Night franchise), the team quickly formed a number of strategic partnerships that would benefit them for years to come. The most fruitful of these (with Compile Heart) gave Felistella plenty of opportunity to work on Vita, making it one of the most experienced developers on the handheld – and a perfect candidate for these articles."
VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "If you ask the average gaming forum user, they’ll probably say that Vita was only a good place to play if you like indie games, visual novels, and of course Japanese RPGs. While I’d hope that readers of my articles have realised that the console offers so much more than this, it’s hard to deny that it built up an amazing ecosystem for role-playing games over the years, mostly spear-headed by the early release of Persona 4 Golden in 2012.
As a result of there being so many RPGs on Vita, I’ve had to split this article up. I’ll be looking at all the turn-based entries in the genre here and I’ll dedicate a separate piece to action-RPGs some time in the future.
