Microsoft working on third-party and current-gen peripheral support for Xbox One

Following news that only Xbox One headsets and peripherals will be compatible with Microsoft's next-generation console, the company confirmed that it will work on solutions to allow other brands of gaming headsets to connect to the controller for gaming and chat audio, it told Polygon in a prepared statement.

The story is too old to be commented.

If you have a great pair of headphones now there's nothing to worry about keep them and use kinects mic,no need for adapters or spending money on a new pair.

"We are working to develop an adapter for current wired headsets to connect. More details as we approach launch."

Xbox Support (1-5)

That is good news. Rather get an adapter and keep my current headset than have to buy a new one. Not as good as my current set being natively adaptable but its something.

I've had my Logitech F540s for over 4 years now, would really like to keep using them next gen, so this is great news.
