From Puzzles to Travel to Combat to Boss Fights

The Legend of Zelda is a game of many genres. Some argue that it's about puzzle-solving, some say that it's about monster combat, and some believe that it's about exploration and discovery. Still others are content to ambiguously call it an 'action-adventure' (whatever the hell that means). But what if Zelda needs not one but all of those things? What if each and every mechanism of the legend is in place for a specific purpose? And what if all of those work in tandem to create the fantastic experience that each of us has thoroughly enjoyed?
