Was this even on anyone's radar? I totally forgot about this. It's powerful, but 3DS has a HUGE head-start on it. What are they thinking?

Everyone wants a piece of the pie -- it's just not everyday that the pie train collides right into the mountainside. Something like this happening to some fresh outfit, like Ouya, is to be expected. But NVIDIA?

Yeah it's kinda wierd move from Nvidia. But I guess their trying to flex their muscle. After the whole PS4/Xbox One AMD debacle, they might be wanting to show what their chip can do.

They've been investing in cloud tech and now this device. I wish them luck, just don't know if luck will cut it though.

In the end , nvidia is going in 8 different directions. Amd is one. Which makes nvidia more powerful and more profitable. See amd doesnt have a processor and gpu for smart phones and tablets like nvidia has. They manufacture their own processor, therefore its cheaper for them to make their own mini console.

If it's able to stream anything from a PC monitor I'd get it so to play emulators ala Wii U/Vita remote play.

Well you'd have to hack your wii u first, or your ps4 before you'd be able to use this with them... Better off just getting a vita surely and using it with your ps4 if you want it for that, wii u remote already does this. After all this only streams direct from a pc as in the main bc not the screen. Also it's only able todo it over local connection not via wifi kike the vita and vita at least gets it's own titles aswell.

I didn't say I'd have either of those systems hack. I meant emulators such as PCSX2, Dolphin, ZSNES, all running remotely onto the Shield.

Its very much a different thing. Its not really a handheld in competition with say the 3DS or Vita, Its more of a product in competion with supliments to PC gaming. Or just "big accessories" for gamers.

I would say that its much more in line with something like The Microsoft smart glass, or gaming tablets, or the Wii-U screen. All of these things are for gaming more comfortably and flexibly, and im certain thats what nvidia is aiming for.

Its price is ridiculous when not close enough to connect to your PC you can only play android games... Why buy it over a 3DS or vita? At least the latter as its own games AND can stream ps4 via wifi and via local connection...
