Latest iPhone 2.0 Firmware Unlocked Again in 24 Hours

The iPhone Dev Team have demonstrated that Apple will have a very difficult time patching the iPhone to thwart their efforts: not even 24 hours after the release of the latest update for the iPhone firmware 1.2.0 (or 2.0, as The Steve calls it,) they sent us this picture showing that they have pwned it again, getting it to work completely unlocked, and run all applications. As they told us: "Apple will not really be able to patch it this time."

The story is too old to be commented.

Bet you Apple is working a patch right now...again.

I was planning on getting an iPhone, but found out there was no wifi, so I have no reason to get it anymore since theyll charge outrageous prices for the internet. I wanted the hacked version so I can install my own software, but they have to be all MS about it now.

you might wanna hold of on the purchase for a while. A new avalanche of iPhones are coming with better features. You should wait IMO.

I read several articles about the new features for the iPhone two, I just havent read much about similar products from different companies. Are others planning on competing with the iPhone?

"I was planning on getting an iPhone, but found out there was no wifi, so..."

Completely inaccurate.

"Being all MS about it now"

How exactly are they being all Microsoft about thing's lol.

This is the same stupid attitude that Job's has always taken with his products. He doesn't want people to have freedom. Only wants people to do what he wants with his product's. Cause that's how he earns money. (eg: iTunes)

"This is the same stupid attitude that Job's has always taken with his products. He doesn't want people to have freedom. Only wants people to do what he wants with his product's. Cause that's how he earns money. (eg: iTunes)"

Jobs certainly believes in controlling the experience somewhat, like what hardware a user can install to with OS X. There's a lot of freedom to do whatever you want under the hood of a mac, however. And, in this case, the hype is wrong. Apple doesn't care about jailbreaking. In fact, they kind of like it, as one of their head officers said in a recent interview, because it shows that there's extreme interest in the product.

Now, you can say, yeah right, Apple says that but that's just business speak...

Except they're letting the guy who developed the first jailbreak speak at their Boston Apple store and promote his new book, "a forthcoming O’Reilly Media book called iPhone Open Application Development, which gives readers explicit instructions on jail-breaking iPhones (that is, bypassing Apple’s restrictions on loading third-party software)."

So I think people have a completely wrong view of the whole thing. Just because a hack bricks a phone on an update doesn't mean that's malicious.

LG actually had the first touchscreen phones.

I recommend htc phones heres the link: http://www.htc.com/Europe/d...

They are a European company, and the quality is superb.

I recommend watching the video on there site.

codeazrael3319d ago

although I hear the prada phone's touchscreen is better, there is little to no support for it here in the states. Besides, image is everything, havent you learned that from those Andre Agassi camera commercials???

Kholinar3319d ago

"iPhone wasn't the first fully touchscreen phone
LG actually had the first touchscreen phones."

And Apple never claimed to be. Multi-touch is their thing.

Many people believe Apple is the first at many things o.O.
