She's just trying to get in the Sequel.

DoubleJumpAUS1765d ago

I really think she was just trying to be funny on Reddit.

PopRocks3591765d ago

Certainly possible. It's also possible she was just venting. I mean the character does look like her and has a name that sounds similar to hers. Since she herself is in a video game, I can imagine her either laughing OR being frustrated.

minimur121765d ago

the annoying thing is, the picture most people are reffering to is the VERY original trailer, like the picture in the article.
That is not how she looked in the actual game, being as post that trailer, they revised it.

over use of likeness? sorry but clearly the in game model is better looking than the real life one so maybe this is all about jealousy

B-radical1765d ago

Lol yeah fully i reckon she should stop whining

Btw can anyone tell me if the ketogenic diets work?

wishingW3L1765d ago (Edited 1765d ago )

she's not even whining, she doesn't even know the game exists, she was asked what she thought about a video game character looking like her to what she responded: "I'm flattered but because I'm now starring in a video game is not appreciated", which make sense.

The comments about "ripping off her likeness" and stuff was just hyperbole from the site that was reporting it for flamebait and hits.

Conzul1764d ago

Yeah but you'll be weak as sh*t for the first week.

DeadSpaced1765d ago

It's a good thing that they got this behind themselves. It really is interesting to see the changes of Ellie's design compared to Ellen Page.

XxDarkGamerxX1765d ago

Man I think I need to get my eyes checked.

The only difference I see if the hair.

DoubleJumpAUS1765d ago

Yeah, it is fairly uncanny. However, the photo I have seen of the voiceover actress also resembles the character, so Naughty Dog does have some cover there.

NovusTerminus1765d ago

You do.
Mouth, Nose, Eyes are all different, even the cheek bone is more smooth and rounded, less gaunt.

KillrateOmega1765d ago (Edited 1765d ago )

@LordMe

Yeah, if you look closely.

If you're just giving it a passing glance, or at least not nitpicking at the details, then Ellie REALLY does look like a young Ellen Page.

You'd have to be lying to yourself to believe otherwise...

Virtual_Reality1765d ago

The eyes shape are very different from old to the new one.

Utalkin2me1765d ago (Edited 1765d ago )

@DoubleJumpAUS

Really you think she looks like Ellie?

@DoubleJumpAUS
Yah, Ashely Jonson does look similar to the character as well.

@rdgneoz3

Sorry that picture doesn't help. Ellen page looks more like Ellie then Ashley Johnson to me.

minimur121765d ago (Edited 1765d ago )

there is quite a bit of difference, cheekbones, mouth, nose is a tad different, but to be honest, if ellie looked any way different atall, you wouldn't've cared for her like you do. I mean, if she was 6ft and had pink hair..... haha

Either way, with the character's name being "Ellie," I wonder how much of this Naughty Dog really saw coming in at least some respect, even if they didn't set out to copy the face.

Godmars2901765d ago

The funny thing being if she wasn't featured in a game herself she very likely wouldn't have had a clue about it.

DJ1765d ago

Well the final version of Ellie doesn't look like Ellen Page, so the argument's over.

ShAkKa1765d ago

Agree, if the older design had never been made public I really doubt many(if any) people would be associating current Ellie with Ellen Page.
