World of Tanks' Kislyi: “One million is not a good install base for a free-to-play game”

Wargaming CEO discusses World of Tanks' pending launch on Xbox 360, why the game will not be “100 per cent free to play,” and the possibility of an Xbox One launch. (Victor Kislyi, Wargaming.net, World of Tanks, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

One million may not be good, but I think 47 million XBL subs should do nicely.

Sounds like they are willing to give Xbox One a chance once it has a larger install base (in regards to the 1m not being good).

I can't say I disagree about paywalls on f2p though which is why Sony is getting more at launch. The small install base is still an issue but option of multiple f2p (even those I have played already on PS3/PC) is still part of why I preordered the PS4 already. I can buy a few games and f2p with existing and new PSN friends in the meantime while waiting for new releases.

Win win for players and f2p games as well as they lack more competition at launch so more likely we can play it enough to warrant purchases.
