Here are some newly released GT5:P screens in which the poster described as "stunning'.
these look very impressive and shows how this game looks, damn awesome! without competition!
i am a simulation guy........ ........ weres the damage
AFW . . . . . . . . . . . Awesome Fvcksome Wowsome
You make Kittonwy proud!
Stunning Screenshots for a Stunning Console!;-P
Yeah..lol..Representing Kitonwy over here..:)
wowsome for sure :) i cant wait for this game
Looks so good.
Jaggies ! I know jaggies are in every single game but in some screenshots that are touched up, you see no jaggies
i think its the heat waves that that look like the jaggies and if they are not, they shure look like it :D but my OMG they look so good
That's not jaggies, it's heat waves. It gives a sense of realism as to how hot it is......I think that was obvious.
Well there is one screenshot that shows jagged shadows, but the rest are because of the heat distortion from the heat waves coming off the pavement. Anyways, the detail in this game far surpasses anything I've ever seen before...absolutely stunning.
Didn't know that you can look around in the c*ckpit view =D How does it work ?
the right analog(i think)stick lets you look around the cabin, its kind of like looking at the side view mirrors. You can also look into the rear interior of the car.
all you have to do is push quick-right on the wheel D-pad to look left or right at anytime to see your view (whether in cokkpit or not). btw - Can't spell coc*pit the regular way because of the stupid word filter.
i didn't know that either.. i don't think it could've been done in the demo. and i actually thought about it while driving my car, i realized the in car view was missing some of the things i would normally see while driving my car(like the right side view mirror). they did think of everything didn't they. i just can't wait for my copy.
You need to set it up in the options then use the D-Pad (left/right) to look around.
HAHAHAHA I HOPE PPL DONT BELIVE THIS PIle of crap ive got the game and it looks no were close to this whne playing all these screens are touched up show me a gameplay footage with hud with this visualls cause i got gtp and it does not look like these screens end off move on
GT5P actually makes even your GAYERS look like pile of crap Not to mention GAYLO3 that looks like DOG SH** and runs at 640P XBOT GT5P has killed x360 in UK/EUROPE Initial reports suggest that PS3 sales have incresed by multi folds thanks to GT5P It is over from 70% defective box 3 fUC me in europe. NA to go LOL every GT5P screen will look touched up to u since your x360 will never have any game as realistic as GT5P
Oh please, like someone named "poos3" has a PS3. shut the fu*k up.
OMG did you see the writing on the headlights of the BMW? I'm speechless.
lol. i didn't notice until you said it. i think right now we just take everything for granted when it comes to this game.
I really like screen 2. But the screen with them looking out the car out the side window is dreadful.
I would simply put this in the PS3 and let them go tell their leaders.
if they had the technology to come all the way here. then i don't think GT prologue will be impressive for them. but i wouldn't be surprised if their mother ship had a cell processor running the show.
exactly kt ^^^ they probably already use the CELL but they've never seen what Polyphony can do with it and this is only *Prologue! Polyphony could be the only reason they spare Earth from inter-galactic slave mining. 8D
Great comments and bubbs for you Madden and K.T.
WTF!!!! im trading forza for this!!! :)
does anyone have like actual in-game screen shots that aren't replays??
They look pretty much identical this time around, ask anyone who's played Prologue.
I play at 720P, and have played on my mates tv at 1080P. Couldn't tell any differance between replay and races, except of couse the different views available in replay. The graphics really are this good. Unless of course you look at the shadows....
I never understood why those shadows that look like triangles happen.
nearly everything in video games is made up of millions of triangles. This is more of an anti-aliasing issue that can be resolved as they refine the *demo for the full release of the game next year and figure out more ways related to programming to get those shadows to look a little 'straighter'. Also think of the closeup shot of the screens (that you would normally not do) and when in motion, it's hardly noticeable.
Actually pixelated shadows don't have anything to do with the polygons of the models. When you create a shadow using shadow mapping, you basically take a picture of an object from the point of view of a camera, and then put that picture on whatever plane the object is on. The higher resolution this shadow map, the more memory it takes. So what you are seeing is the artifacts introduced by a shadow map that has a lower resolution than a regular texture. This is assuming they are using shadow maps though.
Not to add another actually, but not all shadow mapping causes these issues, only texture mapped shadows. In that sens the person above me was correct, what it does is pretty much cask a color mask over whatever texture it is being projected onto. If the size of the shadow map is smaller than the size of the texture map its being projected onto, you get artifacts. There are ways to use this to your advantage and get some nice fake soft shadowing, and I assume this will have been worked out by the final release, but it takes a bit more resources to pull off. I'm just glad they didn't go with stencil shadowing, which makes every shadow have a perfectly sharp line, no matter what the light source or distance. There are a lot of options, and someone writing a thesis for their PhD always thinks they have a better way, but right now those two and their variations are the only two that are feasible to use in a real-time environment.
Is there a quick answer why computers have to render in straight lined polygons? I mean even the steering wheels show up straight lines on a really really really big TV.
Because polygons by definition are comprised of at least 3 vertices connected by line segments. Increasing the number of polygons can give the illusion of curvature, but in actuality, all you're seeing is a series of straight lines too small for the eye to detect. Also, true curvature (and 0 jaggies) will never be possible on TV's as they are now because they all use square or rectangular pixels. Unless we were to go back to vector-based graphics (highly unlikely) or switch to some sort of adaptive super-pixel TVs, jaggies and straight lines will persist.
I have the game and i honestly must say that it looks better when playing than the replays, which looks to need more AA. Also the backgrounds needs more work but the physics are outstanding. I was driving a Viper on daytona and even on the straits you could loose it if just yank the wheel. You must be so smooth. Overall i am in love with this game, but the online is a bit of a let down with people playing bumper cars.
Totally agree with everything you said.
damnit, can't view them! I got banned from GAF for a week. >_> I need to memorize all the banned memes...
well at least the pics are real and you can see all the jaggies just like in the game. this was a dissapointment or should i say to have the jaggies was.
hahahahah I love the Jealous BOTS. They make me keep coming to this site. Exclusive GTA 4 PS3 CONTENT FTW HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAA
but i did notice that all the same websites that couldn't play on the PS3 browser still can't and the ones that can still can but the whole automatically buffering thing for downloads is not flying so well with me, it takes so long or it just freezes the ps3 all together
I do not even know whats real or fake anymore"looks in the bathroom mirror touches face frantically then I ask myself Am I real? Or am I just a avatar in home 3000 on the PS839?)*shivers*
yeah. The matrix is real:)
I wonder if its really a good idea networking thousands of Cell processors ([email protected]). The Matrix and Skynet come to mind. "At 3pm, March 30 2008, Cell became self aware". .....ahh sh*t
To any dis believers yes this game does look this good, sure the movie at the start is unreal, but seriously at some points the game is not far off, i'll put it this way there's nothing on xbox 360 or any other console including pc that will topple this.
you know that coc*pit view was pretty nice...it would look better with a pus*y willow flower in it with a driver named di*k i guess...lmao damn word filter....hehe
From graphics to the reality sim, this shiat is truly the king. Xbots have to settle with forza lot less cos GT5 isnt available for their system, so they talk crap. GT5 is used by professional drivers to learn tracks as it is the only racing sim that comes closest to reality. Check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watc... THE REAL FKING DEAL XBOT BIATCHES. LOL AND YOU TALK ABOUT FORZA 2 ON THESE FORUMS LOL FKING NERDOS. CHeck this out: I bet you’ve heard rumors before that Gran Turismo was used as an actual training tool but have you ever seen proof? Well thanks to the Japan Times we now have quotes from big time racers that actually use it to memorize the curves of tracks they haven’t been to in awhile. “Formula 1 racing drivers such as Toyota’s Jarno Trulli and BMW’s Kazuki Nakajima have been seen practicing in front of a console. Whenever a new track comes onto the racing calendar, like Fuji Speedway did last October after a 30-year absence, and drivers cannot get there to practice for real, many fire up “Gran Turismo.” They say it’s the only way to memorize the track layout and braking markers — the points where you must start killing the speed to take an upcoming corner.” Now while that’s impressive on its own, the next bit this interview presents is even more incredible. Apparently GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi clocked over 1,000 laps on a famous German track and then had a go at it in real life. In his first 12 laps he was driving at 90% capacity and after a few more he was clocking times that rivaled that of the pack. This test and interview definitely shows that Gran Turismo has finally come of age as more than a game and can be considered a real-life simulator. Here’s one more test that will boggle the mind: “And how did Yamauchi do in his first race driving the Mazda MX-5? Not bad at all. Having done more than 2,000 laps of the Tsukuba Circuit in his game, Yamauchi only needed a dozen laps of real-world driving before he was clocking the same times as the rest of the field — many of whom had been circling that track regularly for years. But then, as I mentioned, Yamauchi is a good driver. The same year, he was only 0.4 secs behind Loeb’s best Le Mans lap time when they battled it out on “Gran Turismo” at maker Polyphony Digital’s Tokyo headquarters. “ http://www.jgadgets.com/200... Real fking deal biatches. GT4 vs REAL LIFE http://www.youtube.com/watc... Hahaha owned. Its no wonder that GT franchise sold over 47 million copies worldwide as the undisputed market leader. Every car manufacturer is using this game as a showcase for their models. Cant say the same for the wanna bes. And the graphics on GT5 cannot be done on the 360. You fail.
