I'm not worried about finding an audience for indie games on the PS4. They pulled in a lot of indie gamers and developers when they made those game and game publishing announcements.

It's more like XBox One vs. PS4 & indies. Microsoft will have to introduce self publishing at some point. There is no way around that.

I agree. There is a large market for indie games. Microsoft, i believe, will have self publishing. My sister has tons of indie games, i played flower on her ps3, i like the creativity of these indies. Sometimes you got to take a break with FPS.
