Microsoft May Bring Halo, Forza Motorsport and Flight Simulator to iOS and Android Platforms

Today Microsoft and the Japanese smartphone developer Klab Inc. announced that the Age of Empires franchise will debut on iOS and Android platforms this year, but the initial announcement specified that more games would follow. What games are they talking about? We don’t yet know for sure, but a rather heavy hint can be found in the official press release announcing Age of Empires just sent by Klab. (Android, Forza Motorsport 5, Halo, iPad, iPhone, Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Nope, the deal is for actual ports. Smart glass isn't mentioned at all.

If they do that they'll seriously be undermining any reason to get the Xbox One. I mean why would I buy it if I can just play any and all X1 games on my phone or computer?
Geezus  +   884d ago
yeah cuz halo and forza on ios and android is gunna be the same as halo and forza on the xbox one /S

But they'll be Cloud-powered so they'll look better than PC games.
Kenshin_BATT0USAI  +   883d ago
Their cloud servers are meant for all of their devices that can support it. So Cloud gaming becomes a null argument.
Abriael  +   884d ago
Because it's *seriously* doubtful that any of those ports will look even nearly as good as on the xbox one, not to mention, touchscreen controls? come on...

Don't get me wrong. I personally don't care at all. I've never been a shooter or racing fan so it matters little to me. That being said....Carmageddon on my S3 is pretty damn fun. xD

congrats - this is the dumbest comment I have ever heard!
Kenshin_BATT0USAI  +   883d ago
Funny how you say that. I saw this comment a few days back and thought it was pretty dumb.

---"Will be interesting to see 3rd party support shift towards Microsoft over the next few years because game sales are higher due to the stamping out of the used game market.

Short term win for Sony, with long term consequences. Plus I remember my Ps3 allowing me to play my Ps2 games initially - boom feature removed. I also had Linux installed - boom feature removed.

Its likely that Sony says this now, but when devs start to favour Xbox One - they will do a trademark backflip.

Sony cannot be trusted."---

That was before Microsoft flipped the switch on their drm policy. Kinda ironic how wrong that guy was right?

Nope - I stand by that comment and think Microsoft made the wrong move going back to the archaic practice of swapping disks. Their DRM policies were a major step forward for so many reasons and offered up so many cool possibilities.

However the moronic gaming community were 2 short sighted and stupid to understand the advantages. And Microsoft did a shit job communicating these benefits and advantages to the public, so they are both to blame.

Also, my PS3 broke and under warranty I got a new one, however it was unable to play my PS2 games. I also used to have Linux installed and basically used my PS3 as a PC. Both of these features were taken away.

Rather than say my comment is dumb, please elaborate as to why?

Note I am aware I didn't elaborate, however thought there was no need - it was pretty self explanatory.

Microsoft turning into a third party publisher, hmmmm
Abriael  +   884d ago
As a matter of fact according to Ballmer they're turning into a "devices and services" company.
shikamaroooo  +   884d ago
I'm surprised they haven't confirmed supporting Windows phone too
cabinotier  +   883d ago
iOS and Android got more support than WP on SmartGlass.
This makes sense to me.
Mikefizzled  +   883d ago
Well WP8 is already getting Halo Spartan Assault so one would assume they would continue support.
Soldierone  +   884d ago
What a terrible decision.... IF they were to do this, it should be exclusive to Windows phones.... It'd be stupid for Sony to release Vita titles on all Android devices, it'll be stupid for Microsoft to release the few jems they have for all competing devices.....
sarcastoid  +   883d ago
Yes, whore your games out.. gives them a real sense a value and prestige. Another good call, MS.
Abriael  +   883d ago
Do you play prestige?
sincitysir1  +   883d ago
I've seen prestige
jeffgoldwin  +   878d ago
No be exclusive and selfish. That's the more honorable way to do it....
horndog  +   883d ago
I think they will bring some kind of version of those games which is a smart move by them in a business sense but nothing like what the x1 versions might be.
