Katsuhiro Harada Hopes Everyone Has Forgotten About Tekken X Street Fighter

Producer Katsuhiro Harada hopes Namco Bandai, developers of Tekken X Street Fighter, has completely forgotten about Tekken X Street Fighter so he doesn’t have to produce the title.

Since the release of Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken in March 2012, everyone has been patiently waiting for Namco’s take on the two fighting franchises with Tekken X Street Fighter. Harada has been very quiet about the game that is rumored to be in development hell.

It's for the best, they should really focus on creating Tekken 7 with the new gen just starting

man, I was really hoping to see how the SF characters were going to look like with Tekken style.

tbh i don't think street fighter characters would have transferred over well into the tekken fighting style. example: like if ryu throws a hadouken at kazuya, kazuya can easily just side step to avoid the attack thus breaking the whole gameplay structure. i think its for the best that it not be made, but i'm sure there is people who thinks otherwise. so pose the question to you people, how could this game possibly work?

They could make his hadoukens homing or massive maybe.

Not entirely the case, the Devil's and Orge have projectile attacks, and while their dodge-able, it doesn't break the gameplay structure, and you can simply jump over them in SF, so I don't think that's the problem.

The problem is building an in depth combo system for over 20 Street Fighter Characters with 3D models.

Well, Alisa has missiles, and the dinosaur in Tekken 2 had fireballs, so I guess it would have worked.

jc485731999d ago (Edited 1999d ago )

there are ways you can approach it, but it ain't going to be easy. I was thinking about mixing fireballs as a form of combo kinda like what people already do with SF4. Fireballs shouldn't be used freely in Tekken that's what I'm saying. Let's say SF characters realized that their techniques don't work in Tekken Universe, so they need to adjust their style a bit.

so pretty much what your saying is its not happening,eh its for the best, tekkens playstyle is to realistic compared to street fighters, and SF characters would seem out of place, now if tekken ever did a crossover it should be with Dead or Alive(will never happen though :( )

I'm honestly not that miffed about this at all. I'd rather they focus on Tekken 7, and focus on actually changing things up instead of just extending the length of the combos by another ten seconds.
