I don't need the proof for waiting this game but thank you horror_spooky - you make my day! :)

When it's out for PS4 or PC is when I'll be excited. GTAIV on PS3 was an aliased slideshow so I don't have a lot of faith of great performance from V (especially if they have improved the graphics). Seems a lot of effort to put in to a game who's last version could barely run as intended on current gen consoles.

The engine did look amazing in places though, esp these days on PC with mods and fast GPU/CPU.

This should be ON PS4/PC, then we'll talk.

TheModernKamikaze3952d ago

For PC maybe, you can tell it's for PS3 and 360. (Flat textures.)

If they somehow make it look better, then it better be on PC/or PS4

Polysix3952d ago

so it would have to look worse than GTAIV to run better on PS3/360 (in theory) unless they magically got better at coding and made an engine that looked much better while also running much faster on the exact same hardware.

That will be a feat I'll enjoy seeing if they can pull it off! :P

My point is, I'm surprised they are even doing GTAV for current consoles given that they could barely bring their vision to life for IV - not Rockstars fault, more their vision for the world/engine they created pushing things a little too much for current gen (and yes ok maybe a bit of bad optimising if the PC version was anything to go by lol).

This post is neither anti PS3 nor anti Rockstar. I really enjoyed what they did with the engine and graphics but was sad to see it run so slowly on PS3 (I sold my ps3 version, waited/bought PC version only to find that was f*****d performance wise too - only now have I got a fast enough PC to do it justice - i7 + GTX780 lol)

horror_spooky3952d ago

The main reason they are doing GTA V on current gen consoles is the install base. Furthermore, I am pretty sure they have been working on it since they wrapped up GTA IV. They probably didn't want to move the development over to next-gen.

Polysix3952d ago

we'll see. Obviously they did it for 'install base' they are going to make millions on this baby!

However, if they can scale it up for PC (eventually) then they should do the same for PS4 and sell even more millions :P (in a year).

My OVERALL point is, that this late in the gen and knowing how badly GTAIV performed, unless they have sorted the frame rate than I can only see this game being nerfed graphically OR running like treacle on 360/ps3 and that would be a shame and a bad way to first experience it compared to PC/PS4 versions that may (or may not) come.

Why I'm getting downvoted for simply stating it would be good/better on a system that could do it justice I don't know. LOL but fair enough!

horror_spooky3952d ago

Because there was really nothing wrong with how GTA IV performed would be my guess. <_<

So all N4G's Hypocrites will stop voting down my comments saying GTA5 will be GOTG and better than TLOU

linko18-19903952d ago

The last of us will definitely be a tough coockie to chew for any developer out there. To pull off a game that deep its something rare now a days.

horror_spooky3952d ago

If it isn't GTA V, it will be The Last of Us

I only need one - Rockstar.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo36d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp36d ago (Edited 36d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg36d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos36d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
