An Xbox 180 Drags Sports Back From the Future of Gaming

Until Wednesday there seemed to be very little selling the Xbox One to a sports video gamer. The questionable ability to rent, share or re-sell its games—fundamental to a culture built on annual releases and punching friends on the couch—was only the beginning. It's a console that cost $100 more than its competitor, with no future in any baseball product.

The story is too old to be commented.

Sure it does kotaku, whatever you say.

I read about half of it and realized he hadn't made a point yet, so i just stopped. The title and concept of this article are already stupid, so a decent writer would make the point early on, but it's kotaku so idk what i expected...

I'll never be okay with paying a "software service subscription fee", unless it's for an actual MMO. And, I only play one MMO, at a time.

And, the sports game packages they're talking about, better be just one option. Because we don't all like all sports. I hate basketball, and I won't buy a basketball game. It's kind of a moot point, because I'm sure they wouldn't be dumb enough to make that the only purchase option.

Nobody wants to pay subscriptions to anything.

Just because people do it...doesn't mean they want to.

People would rather a one time payment:

This way you have 1 time to worry about something, not several. One payment ...not several

So if a developer would Axe the monthly payments and charge a 1 time fee of $200 dollars would you be OK with it?

If the mmo is worth it and only a few are than yes because you know you'll play it for years.
