An E3 look at World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition

Not too long before E3, free-to-play computer game company Wargaming announced they will be making their first foray onto consoles. That game, which was revealed at the annual trade show as World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition, is considered by the company to be a perfect match for console based upon the success it's had on the computer over the last few years.

The story is too old to be commented.

I'm not too thrilled about the Gild/Silver arrangement. It's annoying enough that we have to pay for online multiplayer, but now you have to be Gold to even have the game work beyond the first week? I can only think of one other example of this happening.

Yeah, this kind of thing makes us wonder "Why the 360?"

Free 2 play behind a paywall, NEWSFLASH !! ITS NOT FREE THEN, IS IT!?

Lmfao! I was thinking the same thing. Hasn't Sony said F2P games will not require the Plus subscription?

This is one of the funniest things to come out of E3 in my opinion. Here's why: World of Tanks gets announced for a last-gen system (X360)as free-to-play which it's not due to the Live Gold paywall. Bringing it to the X360 does nothing to bolster adoption of the new system. And to top it all off it's not cross-platform compatible with the PC. Which is so weird considering MS makes Windows. You'd figure it would be easy for them.

Now enter Sony. They have announced that they are bringing War Thunder to the PS4. It too is F2P and in my opinion a lot funner to play than WoT. War Thunder also has PC+PS4 game compatibility which Sony seems to be taking the lead on for next gen. Also, I am pretty sure that F2P games will not require a Plus membership, but please correct me if I am wrong.

Pretty interesting comparison, eh?
