“Me too” and How Trends Dictate the Industry

With E3 fading away behind us and all of the announcements out in the open, much of the hype is beginning to die down. Discussion, however, still rages on and for many, E3 2013 will remain a talking point for the year ahead. Two new consoles were put through their paces in the collective eyes of the gaming press, meaning public debate and scrutinization are sure to follow. We’ve seen this year, more than ever, how these announcements can ignite the wider gaming audience and spark discussion both online and off. Not only that, but games announced with release dates firmly entrenched in 2014 and even possibly beyond, ensuring that this year, there was plenty to talk about. (Culture, E3)

Mindless group-thinkers. It's sad to think that every month (in the United States, not the rest of the world) Xbox 360 would outsell the PS3, despite the fact that PS3 has far more exclusives and (at present time and since it's establishment of the PS3's PSN) had free online.

Yet, people would buy more Xbox's because of Microsoft's misleading advertisements--which gave the perception that you can only find top games like sports and COD games only on xbox. When in actuality, they were multiplatform. Xbox's actual exclusives in the last 4 years, couldn't amount to the number of exclusives that the PS3 has had in any 6 month period (if you look at any 6 month period in the last 4 years)

Just the way it is in the West. In any other place in the world, people are not as ignorant.

true, and lets not forget that ps3 exclusives were better than 360 exclusives, and they always had some new ips and old ips for everyone, not just space marine shhoters,a racing game, and a generic rpg, even the wii had more and better exclusives than the 360.

wait wait, so when people are fans of xbox they are mindless group thinkers? but when the entire internet is constantly should 4>1 they aren't? wow, great logic

Can it still be called a circle jerk if there only 2 people?

Xbox owners are not stupid and your opinions on the games are subjective. We can express our satisfaction for a product we have purchased and enjoy without belittling someone who chose a different product. Gaming is a social experience for many and sometimes that is the deciding factor in which console gets purchased, nothing wrong with that, no mystery, no conspiracy. Not everyone is obsessed with exclusives, I bought my ps3 for the exclusives, but another gamer might not care, and that's ok. I hate it when gamers talk down to other gamers.

That is the lamest thing I ever heard. If it were not for exclusives, then why pick one system over the other? Absolutely absurd. Your one of those people who likes to put everything on equal footing, just for the sake of peace. Sorry but no. MS didnt have exclusives, because they stopped caring once they already sold u their 360 console (which unfortunately I bought too). So sorry, but the 360 was ultimately a tragedy for hardcore gaming by the end of it's cycle. Kinect and no exclusives = lame. Also those who purchased a 360 are not dumb (as I did so, and I am no fool) but your ignorant if you try to say that MS is on equal footing with Sony in the last 4 years. If anything, MS showed their true colors. So I sold my 360 and put the money towards my ps4 pre-order. No way in hell i'm getting suckered into paying for the next xbox, when they already suckered me with hardcore games early-on with 360, only to turn around an abandon us hardcore gamers for 4 FULL years with a drought in hardcore exclusives that was so bad, that it would have ruined the game industry had Sony and Nintendo not also been around to offer far better alternatives. Now that I have a Ps3, i could never give ms any xbox live fee's, considering that they squandered my money by NOT spending our Live fees to make new hardcore exclusives.

Without exclusives, I might as well get a ps3, which has all the same multiplats as xbox, yet also has an average of 40-60 exclusives PER YEAR.

So i'm not getting suckered into getting the xbone. Trust me, the first year will be hardcore MULTIPLATS (-_-), then after that year, just more dude-bro and sports endorsement crap games, Doritos and Mountain Dew ads on the dashboard, and TV shows (lke they said in their first xbone conference)

The option of having "Exclusives" > Only having "Multiplats" (I can get multiplats on any system).

Use your head.

Gotta love how the group thinkers in here are trying to call out other group thinkers.
