Jak and Daxter Collection (PS Vita) Review - JPS

"Uncharted and The Last of Us; these are the high-quality titles associated with Naughty Dog nowadays. Before this generation, Sony’s critically-acclaimed first-party developer was known for outstanding, cartoonish games such as Crash Bandicoot. One such charming series was Jak and Daxter, a trilogy which helped define the PS2 era. Mass Media, with the aid of Naughty Dog themselves, have given all three games — Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3 — a facelift and transferred them to the PlayStation Vita in full HD. Now you can take the dynamic duo with you in your pocket and relive the glory days of gaming regardless of where you are. The question is: Does the Jak and Daxter Collection on Vita uphold the franchise’s high standard of quality?" - JPS (Jak and Daxter HD Collection, PS Vita) 8/10

Got this because I never played Jak 2 or 3. I only played the first one a decade ago.

I'm replaying the first one right now just to brush up on the story. But I can't wait to play 2 or 3. Especially since I hear so often that Jak 2 is so good.

Ps3 version is better than this
Undrey  +   583d ago
Oh really? A port on a more superior console is better than the portable version? That's unheard of.

Not only it's inferior to the PS3 version, the framerate and performance issues are abundant in the first game. The game is noticeably buggier as well. Big whoopee about lower resolutions and less graphical fidelity. It's a shoddy port in the most important parts.

True , vita version should be exactly the same as the ps3 version because vita is more powerful then the ps2 so it should have looked great but when i look at the screens i hate it , it's worst then ps1 . I don't know why it get good scores -.-

First game will always be the best in my opinion, the other two are pretty darn great as well.

It was among the few good, pure 3D platformers post-5th gen.

To anyone who has it on VITA. worth it? I would love to buy this if it is w/o glitches, bugs, or visual issues that may break the game.
Undrey  +   583d ago
Just stiff framerate and sometimes input lag.

And camera sucks sometimes.

This is too damn depressing. I love the vita and Jak is an alright series back in the day but Sony has flat out aborted any support for vita. They even said they won't support it further until sales pick up (isn't it their job to make people want to buy it). They didnt announce A SINGLE GAME AT E3! All the vita gets is old ps2 ports and psn ports. This is the worst support for a system I've ever seen in my whole life. Really regret buying a vita day 1 and really at all tbh.

The vita is nothing more than an expensive ps4 controller. I bet Sony doesn't make another game for it after Tearaway and Killzone. Horrible.

and when does sony said they wont support it until it pick up sales?
could you give a link?

oh btw dont be surprised if there will be a new game announcements at gamescom, because a sony rep "rey gutierrez" already said vita's show is supposed to be at gamescom and not on e3 as it is for ps4
