Mr. Driller Online Excavated from XBLA Next Week?

Last week Namco announced an arcade classic for Xbox Live Arcade in the form of Mr. Driller Online. This upgraded version of the original Mr. Driller includes high definition graphics and a variety of multiplayer modes and was slated to have a Spring release in Japan and other regions.

Well, Spring has sprung (on the 20th for those not keeping score), and Xbox Japan's official game page for Mr. Driller Online states the release date will be April 2, 2008, which is next week. It also confirms a price of 800 Microsoft Points ($10.00 USD). This isn't the first time that Xbox.com has tipped off the release date for titles before officially announced; sometimes it's spot on, and other times it's not. We advise you take this with a grain of salt, but there is a chance you'll be busting blocks with your drill as early as next Wednesday, especially since Arcade titles rarely release in one region before another. (Mr. Driller Online, Xbox 360)
