E3 2013: Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Preview | EGM

EGM: "I’m going to be honest here: neither Final Fantasy XIII or Final Fantasy XIII-2 have been able to really catch my attention. I expected that to be the case again here, but after some hands-on time with this latest gameplay demo, I am legitimately interested. I love the idea of an in-game clock ticking away until the world is going to end—and, as somebody who never cared to play The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, it’s also an idea I’ve not really experienced yet." (Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, PS3, Xbox 360)

The gameplay of this one has made me excited for this game as well. And I already liked the other XIIIs.

looking forward to it myself. Everything they are doing gameplay wise sounds pretty interesting to me.

Woah! Is today opposite day?

This is a Lightning Returns article and there are actually people commenting that are looking forward to the to a game in the 13 series.

Usually I come here to these articles and see a bunch of hate comments.

That's because FF15 looks worse so people see that the FF13 games aren't THAT bad. Sure, they're still bad but they aren't worse than a action game like FF15.

Indeed, if Square Enix would've announced FFXV during XIII-2's launch, it would've sold out. lmao.

With that said, Lightning returns does in fact look more promising than both XIII and XIII-2

@Incredible

I think everyone's too focused on hating the Xbox right now. Games seem to be going under the radar. Just looking at the front page not too long ago, and really for the past week or so, it seems that E3 games are mostly going unnoticed and uncommented on...unless it's The Last of US related. Plenty of focus on that game. It truly has been an unusual E3 post-game this year.

On Topic:

This game looked interesting to me from the beginning. I've always taken FF13 as it's own thing, and not really a FF game. I liked 13-2, and everything I've seen so far from 13-3 has been positive to me.

It seems this game may have some elements of FF15 in it's gameplay department, being more action-RPG oriented. Will be curious to see how it plays out.
