In episode 315 of the Japanese Kojima Productions Podcast, some new Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain details were discussed.
Everyone play Peace Walker. I know a lot of you guys, even me, were holding it off because it was psp, then on HD collection went straight to MGS2 and 3 for nostalgia. But when I finally gave it a chance, PW is a gem. I hope this game takes more from PW than any other MGS, except MGS1 of course. Yes not MGS4, I loved the first chapter or two but then the game kinda made Snake look like a side character or reject, not the legend that he should've been
Finished it 3 times. Best MGS game in my opinion.
"then the game kinda made Snake look like a side character or reject, not the legend that he should've been" That was the point. Alongside the obvious shadows of The Boss (and Big Boss himself), Snake had given his life to saving the world and had been tossed aside by a new era of warfare, by people who have outgrown him and by a government that had made him an enemy. Unlike Big Boss (so long as things aren't retconned in The Phantom Pain), he dealt with it and did what was right.
Solid Snake is the legend the one that fought for it was right instead of his pride. He not always did everything right but he persisted unlike big boss that lost his way after killing the boss.
To me every Metal Gear is a work of art, of course everyone has their favorite, to me the only one that doesn't deserve a 9/10 or 10/10 is MGS 2, obviously it's a matter of preference. Btw, using that mecha will be awesome. PS4 !!!
Forget horses... I'm using this!!! Haha in all seriousness that's pretty cool :)
I'm probably the only hardcore mgs fan that did not like peace walker :/
