Gran Turismo 6 preview and incredible screens | Pocket-Lint

Pocket-Lint writes:

'Next generation? Who needs the next generation? Although eyebrows were raised when it was revealed that Gran Turismo 6 would be coming out on the PlayStation 3 rather than the expected PlayStation 4, you only need take one look at the screengrabs of the game released so far, or take a drive around Silverstone in the E3 demo, to realise this is a next-gen game in a current-gen body.' (Gran Turismo 6, PS3)

I have to ask myself why this looks just as good as Xbox One's Forza 5 but this is on PS3 still... It even looks better in some instances.

*shakes my head*.. and they said there was no way Forza 5 could run on Xbox 360? I highly doubt that based on GT6 now. More like you are dropping all support on Xbox 360 so you can sell the Xbone, that sounds about right.

the scenery will probably look better on forza

is kinda hard to see it in gt6 since there is soo much motion blur..

still looks quite better than gt5 ..

You do know that the 1080p mode on GT6 is 1280x1080 and not the true-HD 1920x1080 like Forza 5, right? So no, Forza 5 is just not possible on PS3/Xbox360 other than next gen hardware. smh

I think the point is one is on Xbox One and the other is on a old system. They should not even look remotely the same but they are very similar in terms of graphics.

They never really brought up resolutions anyway they said it looks as good and better at times. So what does that say about a GT game on PS4 then? If the PS3 can match close to what the Xbox One is putting out.

You might be right that Forza 5 could not run at that resolution on Xbox 360 but after seeing this I can bet it could if the res was just bumped down a little. Also important to know resolution isn't everything.

You can have a game that looks completely crappy even if it is in full 1080p. Just saying and people forget there are actual in game textures that are set as well which can greatly improve how good a game looks.

a great parting gift to this console generation (along with TLOU) - this is why Sony rock.
