Now that Microsoft have come to their senses, the Xbox One is now competitive again. Let’s not forget that the PS4 is also releasing later this year too. Here are several selling points that will appeal to gamers about the PS4.
Yes it does. It's literally better in almost every single way to the Xbox One. The Xbox just does TV better. The PS4 is slightly more expensive than the Wii U and quite a bit cheaper than the Xbox One.
agreed. i always thought, actually I don't need to think . its pretty much factual. that even if xbox one took out the idiotic policies, even if they took out kinect. it still wouldn't change the fact that the ps4 is overall the better console.
Titanfall was probably the only exclusive that might have swayed me, but since its coming for PC, 0 fish given.
Okay at the start of this Microsoft fooled people by using terms. Like LEND/family/friends. Now they are being successful by using the term: "offline game". Did you catch that, if you install a "off line game" then you will not have restrictions, that is the condition. What defines a "offline game" What if only one game has the label of offline game on it? Mostly candidate would be a turned based rpg. Heck what percent of games don't have a component of online to even the 360 games right now? Microsoft almost required it with few exceptions. If there is a term "offline game" as a condition. Then that is a out, for for Microsoft to change nothing! Don't trust a company that keeeeeeeeeps making pot shots at your rights. And keeps adding names like "offline xbox one games", otherwise Fooled you twice! Are you going to let that happen? Microsoft qoute:An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games....If they where not trying to fool you it would read:An internet connection will not be required to play (any) Xbox One games. see the difference? I don't care if it drops to 199 It is still taking away my used games rights!!! plus
Am I the only person that caught this? Okay at the start of this Microsoft fooled people by using terms. Like LEND(should have been check out/check in) lending. Now they are being successful by using the term: "offline game". Did you catch that, if you install a "OFFLINE game" then you will not have restrictions, that is the condition. What defines a "OFFLINE game" What if only one game has the label of offline game on it? Most likey candidate would be a turned based rpg. Heck what percent of games don't have a component of online on 360 games right now? Microsoft almost required it with few exceptions. If there is a term "OFFLINE game" as a condition. for you to not have to get online. Then that is a out, for Microsoft to change nothing! Don't trust a company that keeeeeeeeeps making pot shots at your rights. And keeps adding names like "OFFLINE xbox one games", to fool you, otherwise they Fooled you twice! Are you going to let that happen? Microsoft qoute:An internet connection will not be required to play OFFLINE Xbox One games....If they where not trying to fool you it would read:An internet connection will not be required to play (any) Xbox One games. see the difference? I don't care if it drops to 199 It is still taking away my used games rights!!! plus as I pointed out the DRM issue is conniving explained to fool us? This is what Microsoft meant by they will make this CLEAR. (MORE TRICKY) This could just be a feature on the back of the box. so if they dont make a offline box like they have a 'online multi player' capable box on the back of the disc it is okay to still drm you to there hearts are content!!!
@HammadTheBeast, personally Titanfall didn't impress. But even so, no matter what was shown at E3 this year in terms of exclusive games Sony has proved that they've got a stronger and more varied line-up of games overall. We know what's coming back and we know they dare to take risks.
The price of the PS4 is still a huge factor in this "console war." Analysts have called it the "sweet spot" and it's for good reason. Being just $50 more expensive than the Wii U and $100 less than the XBO puts them in a perfect spot, with or without the ludicrous policies Microsoft tried to pull. I've also noticed people bashing the superior hardware defense and I'm not one to talk about superiority, but they mentioned how the "PS3 was more powerful and look how that turned up." Well, the thing is: the PS3 launched a year later than the much less expensive Xbox 360 and, while its hardware might have been superior, no one really knew how to utilize it for a at least two years. Even with that and on top of atrocious PR, they managed to outsell the 360.
The only thing thats an opinion on which is better is the features and the games, besides that the PS4 is better is a fact for almost everything else.
Well yes, the PS3 is more powerful because of its CELL architecture. Whereas Xbox 360 was based on PowerPC. CELL was different. Both the PS4 and XBOX ONE uses x86 architecture, so they both will not have any drastic differences in nature. Therefore, it's easy to say PS4 is superior than the XBOX ONE. (Better GPU + Graphics RAM) There's nothing XBOX fans can really put anything against this.
Both systems have their pros cons for sure. One thing few mention, Xbone controllers are using Wifi direct which is much superior tech. Doesn't make up for the $100 difference but it is a nice advantage.
The PS2 outsold the Xbox, the PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 and I'm pretty confident the PS4 will outsell the Xbox One. If you want know why some Microsoft fans hate some Sony fans so much, look no further. Same goes for Microsoft hating Sony so much. They try so hard and NEVER succeed. http://www.videogameszone.d...
I agree with your sweet spot, but your current gen info has a bit of an inaccurate representation: The Xbox 360 has actually been leading the PS3 for the past six years, and only just now will the PS3 overtake it. Both are at the ~77M mark. FWIW, the 360 has actually outsold the PS3 for 29 months straight in the US. I am no fanboy, not for either side. I just like facts to be clear. Edit: forgot my link http://bit.ly/1avQg32 Further, it isn't really enough of the whole picture to say "no one knew how to utilize [the CELL] for two years." All houses shipping to both consoles work on the PS3 version first and then swap to 360 near the end for port work because Microsoft's tools are better. Sony is typically harder to work with, and their API documentation and tools support are very visibly poorer historically. If you've spent any time in a major house, or even as an indie, you'll see it immediately. Try sending an executable to the PS3. Hell, try just downloading and setting up the SDK. Try network configuration for a testkit or devkit PS3, now try broadcasting those changes across your farm. Traditionally, throughout each generation, Sony has made it nigh impossible to work on their system. That's one of the most amazing reasons why their attitude changing here is so good for all devs in general. With stronger hardware and a renewed focus on simplifying dev on the box, the PS4 is poised to succeed even without Microsoft fumbling straight out of the gate. I will be buying both systems, like I did last gen and the one before.
The majority won't upgrade for multiplats (BF4, CoD) but if they do, PS4 is $100 cheaper, no camera required, comes with a headset, and it has a better reputation at this point. PS4 will also have several f2p games at launch like DCUniverse, Warframe, and Planetside 2. Speaking of that, the wild card here is shooters. Both XBox One and PS4 has CoD and BF4, but the PS4 is the only one with exclusive shooters. It has KZ, Warframe, and Planetside. Xbox One has no exclusive shooters until Titanfall, and even then, Titanfall is available on 360. It will be nearly a year (when Halo eventually launches sometime next year) before the Xbox One gets its first exclusive shooter. And it'll be coming out around the same time as Destiny. I think PS4 is the better value by far. Xbox One actually REMOVED some value by taking away family sharing and stuff like that.
Titanfall won't be out for another year, and yes it is coming to 360 but it's an entirely different game damn near. Made by different developers, went use cloud or have the massive multiplayer the one version has. Me and all my friends pre ordered the one for BF4. I've been playing BF3 since it came out, why trade in a great game?
Again with the cloud nonsense...
That family share thing was an absolute joke in the first place. "First is family sharing, this feature is near and dear to me and I truly felt it would have helped the industry grow and make both gamers and developers happy. The premise is simple and elegant, when you buy your games for Xbox One, you can set any of them to be part of your shared library. Anyone who you deem to be family had access to these games regardless of where they are in the world. There was never any catch to that, they didn’t have to share the same billing address or physical address it could be anyone. When your family member accesses any of your games, they’re placed into a special demo mode. This demo mode in most cases would be the full game with a 15-45 minute timer and in some cases an hour. This allowed the person to play the game, get familiar with it then make a purchase if they wanted to. When the time limit was up they would automatically be prompted to the Marketplace so that they may order it if liked the game. We were toying around with a limit on the number of times members could access the shared game (as to discourage gamers from simply beating the game by doing multiple playthroughs). but we had not settled on an appropriate way of handling it. One thing we knew is that we wanted the experience to be seamless for both the person sharing and the family member benefiting. There weren’t many models of this system already in the wild other than Sony’s horrendous game sharing implementation, but it was clear their approach (if one could call it that) was not the way to go. Developers complained about the lost sales and gamers complained about overbearing DRM that punished those who didn’t share that implemented by publishers to quell gamers from taking advantage of a poorly thought out system. We wanted our family sharing plan to be something that was talked about and genuinely enjoyed by the masses as a way of inciting gamers to try new games." http://www.heyuguysgaming.c...
Titian fall is only timed exsclusive
Sunset overdrive is a shooter and open world, ps4& xbox1 have good exclusives , saying it dosent dosent actually mean it dosent.
*doesn't Oh and IMO it doesn't. Titanfall is not an exclusive so tick that one off. Sad to lose Insomniac but IMO their exclusives were deteriorating if you consider the hits that ratchet and clank, Spyro and even the original resistance were so i'm not totally convinced that this game is a surefire hit. What else was there oh yeah Ryse I would not suggest that was a game you can back on being good considering that it used to be a kinect game and looked to heavily implement QuickTime events. Forza 5 man that game is becoming dangerously close to a yearly release although I will admit that does seem like it will be decent. Is that it or am I missing something? I think i'll stick to killzone, infamous and Driveclub (which i'll get for free as i'm already a playstation plus member) thanks oh and the order 1886 looks like it'll be insane considering the developers track record.
"Also" Offers Amazing Value For Your Money...really? i mean really? From the looks of it, PS4 is the only nextgen console that Offers "Amazing" Value For Your Money... The ps4 is by far the better console in terms of price and specs. Not gonna mention the games, just look at the PS3 huge exclusive library. PS4 will have the same.
I'm still not sure what to make of destiny. The premise sounds unbelievable to the extent that I have to question whether they can pull it off. Also what happened to your bubbles those went quick :/
Yea i notice that too i had 5 bubbles now i have only 2 lol :/ lots of trolls on this site.... I think Destiny will be a great game, a combination between campaign and multi-player, i like how huge the world/maps are.
They both have great "Value" depending on each persons mindset. I know it's being taken away but, I really did look forward to the XBO game-share and disc-less play features. I also really want Titanfall. On Sony side I'm really glad it's finally getting Cross-Chat and i like the spectate / take-over function, even if it's not implemented right away. I also really enjoy PS+, it's a great service, though I don't think it should be forced but, oh well. I look forward to both consoles. Can't wait for this amazing new generation of games and experiences! (:
You could share D/L titles on the PS3 w/ up to 5 PS3s. But was changed to 2 because people were abusing the system and using it to sell games.
Yeah I remember that, that sucks. Lol. Hm, why do i get disagreed with for being a gamer? Oh well. But yeah, I'll admit i have never game-shared before only because I was paranoid. I never thought it was accepted, I guess that's on me. Lol. =P
the ps4 is the better console in terms of price and specs. When it comes to games that is up for debate.
No, it's really not up for debate at all, and really won't be until at least one of the consoles has enough exclusive titles released on it to warrant a debate. It's all about the games, it's always all about the games--but it's never about games that haven't been released yet. Case in point, the countless Sony fanboys who pointed to Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII as indicative of the PS3's superiority over the Xbox 2.
"but it's never about games that haven't been released yet." On message boards it is, because before a game releases, EVERY game is perfect. For Titanfall or Infamous 3 to be flops is just unthinkable at this stage... and so the war rages on.
@XoF Xbone did announce 13 exclusives at E3, which is a lot more than ps4 has announced yet. So your argument is pretty last gen along with the whole paid online debate.
@Hellvaguy. Sony announced less, because there is no point in showing you stuff that is almost a year away. Sony has 30 1st party games in development for the 1st year on the PS4. They will announce them as time passes at Games Convention, TGS and VGAs. Sony can still surprise; meanwhile M$ already showed most of their assets; and they were not that impressive.
...MS did announce more exclusives at E3, if you include PC cross-platformers that did not include PS4. Actually WAY more, and that was an odd turnaround from last gen. Also, Sony's "exclusive" lineup counted a very large number of indie titles. That may be important to some folks, but IMO, those don't count for much. Go indies! Yeah! but.. yeah your games mostly suck, by nature. You could say the reverse was true with the 360 Arcade titles, vs the PS3's PSN titles -- the 360 had/has more, sure. But the contents of the PSN library was/is more worthwhile. It's more complicated than just raw numbers.
Wow. Really? No one agrees with me here? Good God, I can't tell if I'm dealing with fanboys or morons. Unreleased games have no quality at all. They are ONLY potential. An unreleased game could be good, or it could be bad. Game Console A could have 100,000 exclusive titles lined up for, and Game Console B only 10, but if all of those 100,000 exclusives on Game Console A turn out to be garbage, Console B gets the superior library. That's how it works. You can ONLY judge the quality of a gaming console by its library of games, and you can ONLY judge a library of games once they've been released. This is not something that's up for debate. This is not a subjective issue. You cannot legitimately evaluate things that do not currently exist.
Because they have ONLY potential, it IS up for debate. Also, it isn't ALL about the games, or there would have been no outcry over the DRM. Using XIII and Versus as examples of.. what? The potential of games that haven't been released? The superiority of the PS3 over 360? And what the hell is the Xbox 2? Oh, there's also your pretentious as hell attitude. People are probably used to disagreeing with you on reflex by now. You can judge a gaming console by everything it does and how well it does it. Gaming, however, needs to be first and foremost among its functions and features. The consoles DO exist, even prior to their release. This isn't Shroedinger's cat here: just because we haven't seen them doesn't mean they're nonexistent.
Games are a preference w/o a doubt, there is no arguing that. But the PS4 has more proven 1st party developers, more indie support and more games in development currently. So from that, I would say your more safe to be satisfied on the PS4.
True but at what point does it get saturated? For example, 1000 games vs 1250. I cant even play that many in a lifetime nor afford that many. Becomes a moot point at some point since 90% are multiplatforms.
I agree. So that is where it would comedown to the system, which the PS4 is better on almost every level.
Launch games, maybe; gaming ethos and output, no debate at all. History has shown us this. This year alone has shown us this.
Can't wait to see what more first party studios can do on it.
It all comes down to the games you like
just read about xbone family plan leak, lol and yes, i agree with this article
instant resume of your game, which is a great new feature free game day one and one free game a month after that way better specs 100$ less better design no external power brick upgradeable hard drive
"The PS4 Also Offers Amazing Value For Your Money" And who was thinking otherwise?? It is the most powerful console, it is easy to develop for, it has more developer support, it is $100 cheaper, and has the 1st party studios from Sony which are some of the best developers in the world.
Agreed. Headline is either bored trolling or fanboy flame stoking. I'm predicting a "Microsoft also dropped the ball" article soon.
Yep it's better in every single way. I don't understand why anyone would want an xbox one.
We haven't yet seen the quality of PS4 services and apps. If their browser is anything like the PS3 browser... augh. I love my XMB and dynamic themes, but 99% of the times my PS3 has crashed -- it's because I opened the crappy browser. Also, HDMI-in is nothing to scoff at. The XB1 has some stuff going for it. We can gripe about Kinect 2.0 bumping the price, etc., but when it comes down to it, chances are it will be a better experience overall for the OS and apps, especially with the hands-free and voice-activated stuff. I think the PS4 will be *awesome* for games... and _that_ is what I'm getting one for. If I had to choose one console, and my priority was "living room hub", though... I'd probably choose an XB1. Even with the limited knowledge I have about the two systems thusfar, it seems obvious that the XB1 will be very user-friendly, and MS obviously has more experience in these matters.
In the end games is what make the diference!Yes the PS4 is superior in terms of Power hardware but common knowlegde is that third party developers make games with the smaller denominator in mind,so we are going to see the diference in power mainly reflected on first party games, lets just say that i will buy a PS4 at release day but i dont intend on not playing XBOXONE games especially the ones made especially in mind with the XBOXONE hardware in account, and just like i did this generation the third party games will be brought for the console that displays the better and smoother version.
