"And we’re back yet again with another E3-focused Ask PSLS today, this time asking the staff: What Was Your Biggest Disappointment at E3 2013?" - PSLS
I know these don't seem like big deals to most other gamer's, but for me personally it was: My biggest disappointment was that Kojima didn't give us a release window as to when MGS 5 might possibly come out. Also disappointed that his game showed up at MS's conference and not Sony's too. Also, was hoping that Sony would elaborate on what exactly it is that the PS4 eye camera is capable of. I'm not big on motion games, but still interested in what it could do for hardcore gaming (hoping it can do headtracking for 1st person shooters, or for 1st person view of racing sims and flight games like they do on pc).
for me no ND no SSM(main team) no fallout 4
after TLOU you want more naughty dog? just wait until the next E3 and I'm sure everything you listed is gonna be announced.
Go to youtube and search PS4 Playroom tech demo.
A friend pm'd me that video too. It just looks like an hd version of the current eye, with some dual shock 4 gimmicks. Thats fine and all, for only $60 camera, but i wonder if it improved upon the laggy and unresponsive head tracking they attempted with gran turismo 5 on ps3.
Yeah Kaz and Mark Cerny were not there. Kinda odd. Just wanted to hear him say: "Riiiiiiiiiiidge Raaaaaaaaaaaaacer" again.
No new Lumines game.... I'm weird like that I guess.
Biggest Disappointments - Bayonetta 2 as a Wii U exclusive. Nothing from Naughty Dog. No Sunset Overdrive gameplay. Titanfall "exclusivity."
Judging by Insomniacs last couple of games, don't expect much from Sunset Overdrive.
I thought Fuse was fine. Generic, but fine. Problem is it had to battle with the imaginarily perfect game known as Overstrike. Don't know why everyone craps on All 4 One. But R3 and ACiT were truly awesome.
By last couple of games I meant Fuse and Ratchet & Clank Full Frontal Assault. Where did I say Resistance 3 was bad? You should reread my comment.
Bayonetta 2 was confirmed as a Wii U exclusive since last year. Shouldn't exactly count as a disappointment from E3 2013.
No Fallout 4
After all the hype I didn't see near enough Doritos and Mt. Dew.
If there are no Vita announcements at Gamescon I'm gonna flip.
Although I wasn't really expecting it, I guess my biggest disappointment was that Lorn Lanning didn't make a new Oddworld game, and instead just redid the original Abe's Oddyssey. He is so creative, I would really like to see him with some new ideas in the Oddworld universe.
For me it has to be that disappointing 3D Mario game and the PS4's pay to play structure. ;)
No Mafia 3.
The most disappointing thing I saw? Ryse: Son of Rome. The most disappointing thing I didn't see? Fallout 4.
I wouldn't say it was a huge disappointment but I was looking forward to seeing more of the new killzone, but it was such a tiny teaser with no new gameplay, even 1 minute of new gameplay in a new level would have been so cool. Also I was quite annoyed that companies think that showing us tons of CG trailers or cut scenes is a good idea. Its like, sure I'm very happy you managed to hire an amazing team for the trailer, but how is the actual game looking? any new features etc? UBI were terrible in that respect.
Paying to play online with PS4. I understand why Sony did it and PS+ is a genuinely great value, but that was the low moment of E3 for me.
Nothing like being forced fed old games to make paying for online seem ok now to Sony gamers.
It goes beyond paying for online play. Everyone obviously has to assess the value of PS+ for themselves, but looking at my own gaming habits I realized a few things... 1) I've bought quite a few downloadable games that were eventually either free or discounted through PS+. For me, this aspect alone would make PS+ pay for itself. 2) I enjoy participating in betas and PS+ members get in sooner. 3) Even though I usually buy the games I want right away, if they become free on PS+ I can trade the disc copy in toward something else. 4) There have been many games included through PS+ that I was sort of interested in but never bought or played. If I end up liking two or three of these games per year, PS+ has paid for itself even if the games are older. 5) There have been many free full game trials through PS+ that I couldn't play since I wasn't a member. Some of those games I bought anyway, but it's nice to be able to check new games out before buying. If I end up NOT buying a game because I don't like the trial, PS+ has saved me money. 6) I already want two PS4 games that will be free through PS+ in the first few months, Drive Club and Outlast, so PS+ is already pre-paying for itself. Also, the age of the games that come to PS+ varies. There have been games that were free on the day they released.
"Paying to play online with PS4." Same. "forced fed old games" You don't know the definition of old.
The lack of Nintendo games coming in 2013.
Having to wait for Fall 2014 for Dragon Age 3 and the Syphon Filter series still being MIA were my biggest disappointments.
PS4's pay to play online, and lack of Yarn Yoshi.
Mirrors Edge 2 Announcement BattleFront 3 Announcement Kingdom Hearts 3 FF15 Killer Instinct Planetside 2nfor ps4 E3 DIDNT DISAPPOINT ME
As much as it pains me to say it...Nintendo. I have and still am a big fan of their games and franchises. They had few announcements at E3 and ZERO new IP to talk about. Even my top Nintendo title, X, is a spiritual squeal. They are still riding on the coattails of Gamecube and older system IP with little innovation to grow from.
