Post Arcade: "Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Microsoft Corp. has chosen the rock."
It might save the launch, but a lot of damage has still been done. However, now I'll almost certainly get one. Not at launch, but maybe a couple years down the road.
would have been better served if they had gone through with their intentions first. Seeing as they made their policy change before launch, there is a good chance the majority of consumers wont even know about it. i mean this isnt like Coca-cola and the whole "new coke" thing. That was a mistake but they didnt change it until after it had been on the market for 72 days and the public backlash really took the brand down. This situation is one of change even before it has hit the market so unless every consumer comes to a site like this.....they may be none the wiser.
People have to answer this. What damage? Everyone's saying "damage has been done", but really they've lost nothing. They've been butt hurt for a couple weeks and they think that it's somehow doom and gloom time even though it's doing fine. If you can afford both, get both, if you can only get one take your favorite, and don't complain about the other you haven't bought. The children online are relentless. Microsoft messes up, they change and do what consumers want well before the launch, consumers still complain.
It's never good to see a company be so bipolar on it's stances. They dodge the questions in interviews, we got told several different things in each interview, and were told if we didn't like it "Get a 360!" Well written article, and I think a good number of people will flock back to MS, but I will not be gettting an X1, I do not like how out of touch MS seems to be with their buyers.
Some people will never be happy. I perfer xbox live to psn, and I perfer the xbox controller to the ps controller. DRM was holding me back, but I will get X1 as soon as it cost $ 400.
The console hasn't released. It's not gonna release tomorrow either. We have approx half a year till launch.
They hated the fact that Sony was getting all the attention(and money).
Xbox had their fans bent over a barrel with their ----- in their hand ready to give them the most royal effing they have ever seen. Now that they changed their mind Xbox is the hero again and all the Xbox fans want one. I don't get it. Xbox wasnt even going to give them a reach around unless that's where they kept their wallets. How anyone can support that is beyond me.
You obviously have everything figured out.
If they adjust or subsidize prize, it wont be, if they do not, it will be too late.
i dont think its too late at all if the console had launched then it would have been too late
Well it's still $500.
DRM was only part of the problem. The Kinect is creepy and a stupid gimmick. I for one do not want a live video feed of my living/bed room in the hands of Microsoft/NSA/Advertisers. We've recently learned that every U.S. company is compelled by law to hand over its customer's private information without a warrant. So until the next American revolution happens, I'm staying as far away from American companies as possible.
