I haven't really been impressed by any game's graphics this E3. The games looked good but it was nothing like the PS2 to PS3 jump.

However, I think the difference next gen will bring won't be immediately noticeable. Next-gen GPUs will allow devs to use compute shaders and tesselation shaders. What this basically means is these things will start appearing in games :

GPU-based particles : http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Infinitely large worlds : http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Real fluid simulation : http://www.youtube.com/watc...

This is Harder Than Game 7 Heat Vs. Spurs?

is that a question or a statement with a decorative question mark?

All those game are pretty awesome to watch.
The Witcher is not the best, but, well, is one of the best :)

Ps The division looks very cool too.

No RYSE..... not even nominated instant fail.

Something aint right over there at Gametrailers.

Ryse looked better than all of these games and they showed gameplay.

Whatever you wish to believe, friend. Whatever you wish to believe.

EDIT:
Being called "fanboy" by a fantroll is almost flattering.

You are a fanboy so we can expect you to be blind. The textures and particle effects the shine of the armor, the cloth effects the blur and distance effects. Ryse was using movie style depth of field. It was even slowing down during the executions showing that all of that detail was really there.

Not even a nomination is insulting.

Lol no Ryse looks very mediocre
Ezz2013  +   706d ago
lol Ryse looked very bad to me
I have to agree with Witcher 3
even though KZSF and Infamous SS looked incredible
and better than any other game I saw in E3
Witcher 3 was just better for me

Really? Well that's weird. I thought that Ryse looked phenomenal. But I wouldn't have given it the graphics crown either. MGSV wins graphics in my opinion. It looked so unbelievably good and Kojima said it wasn't even finalized next gen build.

Infamous Second Son and Killzone deserve a nomination as well. But I'm ok with Witcher 3 winning it cause it looks pretty good too.

I can't wait to see what Quantic Dream and Naughty Dog games will look like on PS4.

Sorry for double post but I forgot to mention Final Fantasy XV and The Division looked amazing as well.
Linwelin  +   706d ago
i thought RYSE looked rather average.

but i blame gametrailers on that for messing up my stream quality grrrrrrrrr

Ryse looked really good but the environment they showed was pretty bland. It should have definitely been one of the nominees though. Metal Gear Solid looked the most photo realistic of all the games, but like Ryse, their wasn't that much detail. That's the reason the Witcher 3 won. If you watch the trailer, you can easily see how much detail they are cramming into that world.
JP1369  +   706d ago
Ryse had a detailed protagonist and some good effects and thats about it. The depth of field effects weren't anything special, especially in light of recent PC games and console games like inFamous: Second Son. It's cute that you think making things shiny and blurry sets it apart though.

WTF? inFAMOUS Second Son deserved this.

No, sorry, on real life (at the E3) the witcher looks pretty cool, but other game are superior :
Infamous, Killzone, Destiny, Battlefield ...
SilentNegotiator  +   705d ago
....aren't we "on real life"?

I love me some infamous and let out a girly scream when I saw Second Son, but Witcher 3 was making me bleed from the eyes with all that beauty. Sorry Infamous didn't stand a chance in this category.

Those games all look great to be honest. For some reason I think the whole "best graphics" debate will be determined by the most popular artwork rather than technical performance.

I could and hope to be wrong thou.

I agree the second son cant compete with the witcher, am i only the one that thought mgs was ground breaking ?? that last scene in the desert seemed like a back ground in a gran turismo cvg
