You should have played… Deadly Premonition

"We’ve grown so accustomed to the faultless sheen of modern games – to the soulless bombast from generic action titles – that to be presented with something that feels designed from the ground up as the antithesis of such titles feels like a genuine shock – one that makes you question the qualities of a great game. For to dismiss a game based on sub-par graphics, arguably broken controls and production values that vary sharply (between bargain basement and ten floors below said bargain basement level), would mean missing out on one of the most divisive yet strangely compelling gaming experiences of this (or any) generation." says CalmDownTom

"arguably broken controls?" This is without a doubt the most overrated game of this generation.

A Lynch vibe does not excuse horrible gameplay, unresponsive controls, bad animation and features the worst level design since Clive Barkers Jerico. This game objectively deserves a 2/5.

I like Deadly Premonition because it's ambitious. The developers clearly had a vision, and even though it didn't work out perfectly, there's still a charm to it that shows how much the developers cared about the story they wanted to tell.

Tbh, I'd rather see more games like Deadly Premonition than a bunch of generic, brown, Call of Duty ripoffs. At least the DP devs took a risk to make something unique in the game industry, despite knowing it had a high chance of bombing badly. They weren't just trying to cash-in on the latest gaming fad and that's something that should be applauded imo.

I don't care how broken or bad I still need to play this game.
