Microsoft's cloud computing 'vision' for Xbox One remains unchanged

Though Microsoft has changed its stance on the digital rights management-based requirements for the Xbox One, the company remains committed to cloud computing.
"Our vision around Xbox One and what you can do because of the power of both the architecture of the console, and also the cloud and the Xbox Live service, remains unchanged," Xbox Chief Product Officer Marc Whitten told Joystiq.

The story is too old to be commented.

I really don't see why people on this site think that no DRM means the cloud features were never real.

Think for a moment why don't you? If they the check in was supposed to be every 24 hours and for just a few seconds then obviously it was not for cloud computing purposes.
Why would the check in falling by the wayside indicate anything about the cloud processing?

A rational person would have already concluded that certain games would benefit from being played online while others would require a constant connection altogether and thus be the main beneficiaries for cloud computing.

However, the shills of this site rushed to try muddy the waters and dampen the good news of the day by claiming the removal of the check in indicated the redundancy of the cloud computing capabilities of the X1.

The weak minded fell prey to these shills and now the whole site is simply regurgitating this misinformation.

It would be like claiming Gaikai didn't work because ps4 doesn't have to be online 24/7.

Because they're fanboys and are rushing to find new ways to knock the xbox now that the easy punching bags of game sharing and drm are basically a mute point. just like they're quick to run with any xbox rumor such that it is under clocked and has yield problems because some anonymous guy on some message board who claims to have connections says so

But Sony said, 'hey you guys, we can cloud compute too' cartman style.... Sony cater for the mass sheep, MS did try bring the industry forward in my opinion.... Not in the best way, but however, must do the obligatory PS4>Xbone... Woooohooo gamers unite.... Yeah .... Christ!

But of course it is. We deserve a future where all games are played through the cloud. Ha..hahaha.

What' even the correlation between the two ? How did people make such a leap in logic ?

This pleases me. I wish the family group was back too, but I'm really glad the cloud initiative is still a go. This will only benefit all gamers if it proves useful.
