The E3 demo of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 was a solid twenty minutes of gaming, but it didn’t live up to the brand-leading status it was presented as and did little to differentiate itself from the previous game.
More of the same is fine if, say, they're 3 games in a trilogy. But my philosophy is after that, it's time to seriously rethink your game design otherwise things get lame real fast. That said, 1st game was fantastic. I hope this can at least live up to it. Also, it's on PC now!!! YAY!!
I found Lords of Shadow boring!
To each their own. I personally thought God of War 3 was boring. But I can be easily swayed by fantastic architecture to overlook occasionally mundane gameplay.
I found the combat boring, it took WAY too much from the GdoW series and didn't really differentiate itself enough from the many other action games out there. I also wasn't a fan of losing some of the things that made the older games (PS1 and DS era) so good in the first place like the Metroid aspects and the more open world feeling of discovery, plus the lack of numerous weapon choices made it lackluster. It's unfortunate these aspects were given up, I'm still amazed it got such great reviews considering it's just a clone of more popular games.
While i dont find it as good as the known classics from the castlevania franchise , i found it more intersting than the still great God Of War 3
I honestly cannot wait for this game. The first game in the series was terrific, story was well told. Dracula has always been my favorite antagonist and this iteration of the character certainly peaked my interest when the first game came out. Sure his base story sounds old and trite, it is just very well presented. Not to mention the music by Oscar is amazing! Compliments the game so very well. My best wishes to the people involved in the development team! :)
don't care I will still get it
First game was excellent, with a few flaws. This should be even better. Sounds like they not only understand what made the first game great, but have also addressed criticisms.
More of the same - except now you have camera control and focus on exploration. I'm completely fine with that. In fact, that's everything I really wanted from it.
