Android Kickstarter Wrap-up 6.19.13 -- Little Games Big Dreams

It is undoubtedly an exciting time to be a gamer. The next generation of consoles were recently revealed, while the increasing power of mobile devices coupled with flexible engines like Unreal and Unity is finally starting to bring us the cross-platform utopia we’ve been dreaming of, and through it all the heartbeat of innovation drives us forever onward. There are some really exciting innovations going on right now, including a device that turns any gaming platform, from the NES to Android devices to Xbox360s running on any, 3D, HD or old school Standard Definition television into a full 3D machine.

Just because we are moving forward and technology is continually advancing, doesn’t mean the mechanics developed in the past are being forgotten. While there have been “old school” game developers at least since the proliferation of 3D games in the mid nineties, the past ten years has seen a dramatic increase of game developers who aren’t scared to pull back from the bleeding edge o...
