Final Fantasy XV PC Undecided, Off-Screen Features Likely

Yoshihisa Hashimoto, Square Enix’s Chief Technology Officer, has lead the charge into the next-generation for the company with the Luminous Engine that will host games such as Final Fantasy XV. A PC version is currently undecided, but “collaborations” with Luminous Studio are planned for the future. The game, as per the team, will require a top of the line (expensive) machine to run. It’s because of this, that they want to see what the “demand” will be from the PC audience.

I hope they bring it to PC. The capabilities will be endless!

Need4Game3956d ago (Edited 3956d ago )

Final Fantasy XV, Action-MMORPG, available on PC.

SquareEnix needs the money, to hire more Game Engineer. http://www.famitsu.com/news...

Mods, mods, and more mods!

3-4-53957d ago

Basically on PC, fans/players who are dedicated enough could potentially Mod there own FF XV-2 game if they wanted to.

Xof3957d ago

There is a (very, very false) assumption among some gamers that not only is modding possible for every PC game, but it's also easy, AND large mod communities will spring up around it.

Need4Game3957d ago

Of course there'll be PC version.

Final Fantasy XV is an Action-MMORPG !

I'm not really impressed with 15. I like ALL final fantasies some are better than others and to me after seeing the E3 stuff it doesn't feel like one of the great FFs.

I'm sure they will bring this to PC, it just may not release the same time as consoles.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3957d ago

What isnt impressive about it?. If your referring to the combat video then that was an old build of the game. The reveal trailer at E3 this year is what it will look like in game. The ingame segments looks infinitely better than the combat video that they released so that is what you should be looking at. I can only assume that is what your talking about because the trailer made me extremely excited and any true FF fan would be.

I would be surprised if it was ported to PC. I don't think Final Fantasy isn't the right type of series (aside from the online games) for porting to PC. Admittedly, the gameplay trailer does suggest that XV would be more suited to PC than the usual turn based games.

TopDudeMan3957d ago (Edited 3957d ago )

PC has turn based games. One of my favourite games on PC so far (Since building it last year) that I just played recently was XCOM: enemy unknown. Sure, I know it was on console, too, but I loved it with a mouse.

TechnicianTed3957d ago

'I don't think Final Fantasy isn't the right type of series'

So you mean it is the right type of series?

joe_thomas253957d ago

Oh dear - that'll teach me for not getting enough sleep haha

-MD-3957d ago

PC gamer reporting in, I love turn based games.

Voxelman3956d ago (Edited 3956d ago )

yea tun-based games are very popular on PC. Just look at Civilization for example. And there is a long legacy of turn-based RPGs starting from games like Ultima (a series the helped inspire early JRPGs), the early Fallout games, the long running Heroes of Might and Magic series, X-Com etc etc

And I think the Kickstarter success of games like Wasteland 2 shows that audience is very much still around and hungry for new games.

GDDR6_20143957d ago

Why wouldn't it be? I played ff7 on pc back in the day

trenso13956d ago

how exactly i cant see how it would be more suited for pc playing with mouse and keyboard. yes you can use a gamepad on pc but then you might as well have gotten in on a console then.

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled2d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.

Final Fantasy 15 director reveals why he left Square Enix, and announces he's working on 2 new JRPGs

Final Fantasy 15's director has revealed why he left Square Enix back in 2018.

Hajime Tabata famously resigned from Square Enix two years after Final Fantasy 15 shipped in 2016. In a special livestream at the time, Tabata announced his decision to resign from the company, cancelling three of four new story-focused DLC episodes for Final Fantasy 15 in the process.

FF15 is like FF13 its subjective people either like it or hate it.

raWfodog134d ago

I liked it. I haven’t played the royale edition yet but I’ll get around to it one day.

gold_drake134d ago

no no, 15 wasnt trash.

15 had a tremendous difficult development.

FinalFantasyFanatic133d ago

I really believe 13 was better put together and more complete than 15 ever was.

EternalTitan134d ago

Found the pathetic troll.
How is your jobless life going?
Dot worry, you will never get a job or a girlfriend haha!

Hofstaderman135d ago

Man inherited a train wreck and was expected to release this game in under two years after it spent a better part of a decade in development hell. At one point there was even plans to make FFXIII Versus a musical. He did what he could.

TheColbertinator134d ago

I didn't care much for XV and I always wanted the original vision of Versus XIII but I think the dev team did what they could to salvage the project

Inverno134d ago

And yet people still blame him for the game turning out the way it did, rather than SE for the horrible mismanagement of 13 and Namura for being overly ambitious.

Dwarrior134d ago

Whatever the behind-the-scenes went on over the many years, at the end of the day it was a radical change in direction that I could not go along with. Also why I never bought 16.

gold_drake134d ago

this is also why Sakaguchi (spelling) left.
