Final Fantasy XV PC Undecided, Off-Screen Features Likely

Yoshihisa Hashimoto, Square Enix’s Chief Technology Officer, has lead the charge into the next-generation for the company with the Luminous Engine that will host games such as Final Fantasy XV. A PC version is currently undecided, but “collaborations” with Luminous Studio are planned for the future. The game, as per the team, will require a top of the line (expensive) machine to run. It’s because of this, that they want to see what the “demand” will be from the PC audience. (Final Fantasy XV, PC, PS Vita, PS4, Xbox One)

Mods, mods, and more mods!

Basically on PC, fans/players who are dedicated enough could potentially Mod there own FF XV-2 game if they wanted to.

There is a (very, very false) assumption among some gamers that not only is modding possible for every PC game, but it's also easy, AND large mod communities will spring up around it.

Of course there'll be PC version.

Final Fantasy XV is an Action-MMORPG !

I'm not really impressed with 15. I like ALL final fantasies some are better than others and to me after seeing the E3 stuff it doesn't feel like one of the great FFs.

I'm sure they will bring this to PC, it just may not release the same time as consoles.
What isnt impressive about it?. If your referring to the combat video then that was an old build of the game. The reveal trailer at E3 this year is what it will look like in game. The ingame segments looks infinitely better than the combat video that they released so that is what you should be looking at. I can only assume that is what your talking about because the trailer made me extremely excited and any true FF fan would be.

I would be surprised if it was ported to PC. I don't think Final Fantasy isn't the right type of series (aside from the online games) for porting to PC. Admittedly, the gameplay trailer does suggest that XV would be more suited to PC than the usual turn based games.
TopDudeMan  +   743d ago
PC has turn based games. One of my favourite games on PC so far (Since building it last year) that I just played recently was XCOM: enemy unknown. Sure, I know it was on console, too, but I loved it with a mouse.

PC gamer reporting in, I love turn based games.
Voxelman  +   742d ago
yea tun-based games are very popular on PC. Just look at Civilization for example. And there is a long legacy of turn-based RPGs starting from games like Ultima (a series the helped inspire early JRPGs), the early Fallout games, the long running Heroes of Might and Magic series, X-Com etc etc

And I think the Kickstarter success of games like Wasteland 2 shows that audience is very much still around and hungry for new games.

how exactly i cant see how it would be more suited for pc playing with mouse and keyboard. yes you can use a gamepad on pc but then you might as well have gotten in on a console then.

"While Sony has touted PlayStation Vita will support Cross-Platform Play with PlayStation 4, Square Enix is considering the handheld for use with Final Fantasy XV."

Vita functionality yes please

Off Screen stuff would be cool to use as customization and things. Scrolling through inventory in KH got to be a bit much so having a touch screen would be convenient.

I would buy it on PC...

They have been re-releasing their old PC final fantasy 7 & 8 ports (with crippling DRM and selling it only through their own website for some reason) and the Enix side of the company has a close relationship with Nixxes Software who do PC ports like Deus Ex: HR, Tomb Raider, Hitman etc as well as the upcoming Thief 4.

The last game that SE Japan brought to PC, The Last Remnant was sadly not a great game on top of being months after the X360 version which had already bombed. It was a good port tho and added several features that weren’t in the X360 version. They have recently started putting it on sale more in Steam Sales etc so maybe the long tale on the PC port will convince them to give it another go with a higher profile release.
