What happens when this series runs out of complimentary pairs for subtitles?

Literally impossible for that to happen.

Well, there's still technically Z next... But then Grey was cut out in favor of Black 2/White 2... So I'm gonna take a wild guess and say XX and YY for the next iteration of X and Y.

PS
I've been saying this for a long time, but HOW CAN NINTENDO STILL SELL 2 COPIES OF THE SAME GAME FOR THE SAME PRICE WITH LITTLE TO NO DIFFERENCES??!! It still boggles my mind how they can do this, and no one's complaining. DLC is one of the greatest innovations they're bringing with their stubbornness. I'd rather pay $1 DLC than having to pay a full $40 for 3-4 Version exclusive Pokémons and 1-2 Version exclusive areas. I've been a Pokémon fan since Ruby/Sapphire, and still am, but having version exclusives make me angrier than Season Passes. Don't tell me about the GTS, because all the trade offers are freaking ridiculous... Level 1 Reshiram and Zekrom and Genesect and whatnot...

The whole point of pokemon is to collect, trade, and battle.

There are 2 versions so that it pushes you to trade with your friends for pokemon you might not be able to get. You're not supposed to buy both.

It boggles my mind how people still ask this stupid question that's been answered since the first generation. Use your damn head.
