Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Hands-On [RPG Site]

RPG Site checks out the third and final FF13 game at E3 2013:

"The greatest shame in my eyes is that I know the adventures of Lightning and the world of FF13 have already lost a great deal of people. With FF15 now announced, they’re slipping ever more out of mind of even those without an axe to grind.

As such, it’s a shame that such satisfying combat has come so late. At the very least, I’m looking forward to experiencing more of this combat for myself when the game launches in February of next year. However you feel about Lightning, this is an interesting twist on the FF formula and one to watch." (E3, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, PS3, Xbox 360)

I'm actually going trying to go through FFXIII again and I must say I under estimated the game. Approaching it with a clear head now gives me new appreciation for it. Don't get me wrong the game is wayyy too freakin' linear. But the story is there. I'm told that XIII-2 is much better in terms of actually giving you stuff to do throughout the game.

Bottom line is I under estimated the game...let my love for previous Final Fantasy installments to cloud my judgement. The game is actually pretty enjoyable.

I had to play through it a second time to really appreciate XIII as well, the story IS there its just most of it comes as text in the menu instead of coming out through character interaction. The second one is better as far as the linear aspect goes, there's lots to do and the time traveling is pretty fun, and the time travel story gives the game alot to play with story wise. I'm looking forward to seeing what XIII-3 has to offer, hopefully it will satisy until XV gets released :]

I must admit that the story in XIII-2 ended up being way too convoluted for my tastes. I wonder how they'll conclude it in XIII-3, if that's even possible.

That said, I myself really enjoyed both XIII and XIII-2. They both had their flaws (Linearity for XIII and nonsensical plot for XIII-2) but they both had nice qualities too. Combat was fun in both games, visuals were beautiful, and both games had some post-game fights that were hard enough to offer a good challenge.

Can't wait too see how it all translates in XIII-3 with the new battle system. :)

Apparently Lightning's breasts size was increased by one cup. So I'm totally buying this. (Kidding, I am buying it, because I just want to, but that isn't the reason why)
