Looking forward to this in a big way, but, if my Fanatec wheel set up doesn't work, I'll be taking a pass on it and the Xbox One.

Brutal, I hadn't thought about that, that's a big investment I wouldn't want to replace either, that sucks but I have a cheap play seat with the old wireless racing wheel attached, I've been using it this whole gen, its always worked fine for me, so I'm just going buy a "cheap" wheel hopefully for Forza5....I have a lot of stuff to buy come the holidays so I got to prioritize/budget what I plan on picking up.

I started out with a wheel mounted to a plywood table I built years ago. Than it, as everything does with me, evolved into a room dedicated for gaming but primarily racing. Especially Forza. It's my favorite game on a wheel. I'm just really frustrated with MS. I get most of what they're doing with the X1 just not them abandoning peripherals, used and rental games.

I know used games will work but I don't want to have to learn how. I just want plug and play friendly. MS really needs to just come out and be 100% clear how everything will break down. Than again it's hard to weed through the misinformation often posted on sites like this because of tabloid journalism. You don't know what to believe.

I have a monster PC gaming rig but I prefer consoles for their ease of use / plug and play. I don't have shallow pockets. I could swing a whole new wheel and rig combo but I was really planning on going big with a whole new sound system for the next generation. I am still waiting for Thrustmasters plans for their new F5 wheel. If it's on par or better than the T500? I might still take the plunge.

I just don't think Thrustmaster would do that because the sweet spot for a FFB wheel for consoles is usually -$300. Maybe they will build multiple versions. 1 for the budget oriented gamer and 1 for the mentally deranged.

Forza 5 does look freaking incredible though. Everytime I see it I weaken. Must be strong. Must resist.

I have the Fanatec CSR Elite (Official Forza 4 Wheel) so I feel your pain but it's not going to happen. Our Fanatec wheels wont work on the X1.

MS is working with Thrustmaster and they are building the Official Forza 5 wheel. Rumors are that it is the T500 motor but built around X1 code. The T500 is an incredible wheel (I own one) but I prefer the CSR Elite and especially the CSPedals V2 over the T500 pedals.

I don't see why our wheels are being X'ed out (pun not intended). I mean I just got the wheel a little over a year ago and it's the official MS Certified Forza 4 wheel. So I agree because that was the deal breaker for me as well with Forza 5.

I'm not shelling out another 500 to 800 dollars for a wheel and pedal setup because we, the dedicated diehard fans, are being left behind yet again. It's not right.
