Unlike the Xbox One, Ouya Puts Players First

Though not as powerful, the $100 console addresses a lot of peoples' complaints over the Xbox One. Why not give the modest Android box a try?

LOOOL @ the pic, anyway, I do not think that Android gaming is being taken that seriously, which is why we still have the steam box or PS4 or WiiU

Bigpappy3964d ago (Edited 3964d ago )

I have a felling that Ouya is NOT a viable alternative for Xbox users. I personally never even paid any attention to what it offers. Anyone that was convinced to hate the X1 is surely not going to look at Ouya... unless they hate Sony and Nintendo.

But android has a huge uphill battle, and a lot to prove, if they want convince core gamers to even consider devices using their OS as an alterative. Android hasn't shown itself to bring anything new our creative to the gaming space. So just having a system for $100 is not enough to grab gamers attention. Android fanboys aren't necessarily gamers (mostly people how like doing stuff with their phones. Anything with their phones).

The writer is basically saying that Ouya is digital. Even though X1 has better ways for you to share digital games, Ouya is cheaper, so go with that. That is not going to work.

Ya the Ouyas games at best will be comparable to the PS2. Its a good alternative if you don't make that much $ and can't afford a ps3/xbox 360 or the new consoles.

Lot's of hate for the Xbone, most of it deserved, but to throw Ouya on it as well means very little, lol.

3DS on the other hand. :P

Foxgod3964d ago

I ordered an Ouya, i will use it for emulators and XBMC.

Mikelarry3964d ago

low blow, even ouya is taking the piss

LeRise3964d ago

Ouya FTW! It doesn't make a threat to PS4 or even WiiU, this is a good console for developing countries, with cheap games. Just don't bully it, it's on your side.

I had the LaserActive... it was a nice collectors piece but not very practical. Especially when it came to needing recapping. I think i paid all of about $50 for the floor model from an incredible Universe back in the day. I ended up selling it many years later for $300 at the time due to it needing a new laser and the aforementioned recapping.

An honorable mention not on the list would be the VM Labs Nuon. It basically looked like any regular DVD player but it had ports on it for controllers to play specific games. one of which is still exclusive to it with Tempest 3000. It also offered nuon enhanced DVD movies with extra content not accessible by regular players.

How has this article missed out Sega's Dreamcast and Nintendo's Wii U, two consoles that were actually superb devices in their own right, but were seen as failed due to lacklustre sales at the time of release?

Knightofelemia1578d ago

Wonder how long before Stadia appears on the list surprised the Ngage is not on that list

I enjoy these kinds of articles.

Talk about a blast to the past.......I remember trying the virtual boy at Toy R Us and it was cool but I did feel slightly disoriented afterwards......good article.

That's pretty cool they were able to bring it back. It sucks when something online only gets killed.

I got mine when it first launched, however it wasn't good for anything other than retro emulation. I couldn't sell the thing fast enough. Managed to get almost all my money back selling it on eBay.

Just let go homies. It was DOA

JEECE1609d ago

I guess the Stadia launch is bringing back memories of other failed consoles/services.
