Good. Nintendo's track record so far shows it's one of the few companies that has sold DLC properly and fairly. $20 for a full game expansion or map packs for $2.50. Oh, and none of the content is on the disk/cartridge. And it's released long AFTER the game is released.

Maybe make the game first, before thinking about DLC.
I hate pre-release DLC.
Buy this game so you can buy it again later!

He wasn't really thinking that much into the DLC. He was asked in an interview if the next Zelda would have DLC and he basically said maybe.
This just means that he's open to the idea, not that he was seriously thinking about it (before the interview, at least).

I'm hoping for DLC that includes sidequests, proper, full-length sidequests with their own entire dungeons, hopefully for less than $15.

I hope the game is worth even thinking about purchasing dlc for in the first place..

It's Zelda. Unless you're tired of the series, why would you have a reason to think it's not worth having DLC expansions of some sort?
