eternal champions is the only one that should have a shot since all the other games on the list have had a new game over the years eternal champions is the only one that has not.

I only managed to beat Eternal champions with Trident. It was brutally hard and if you lost you had to fight the last two enemys again. I really loved that game cause of it's unique atmosphere.

Try Larsen. He made it a little easier.
EpicDome  +   776d ago
There will be a part II of this list! :)
Wigriff  +   775d ago
It better include ClayFighter! lol

In all seriousness, a new Samurai Showdown would be awesome.
EpicDome  +   775d ago
Dyper Uppercut!! Yeah, that was fun. What would that look like Next Gen?
EpicDome  +   774d ago
Edit: Diaper Uppercut, of course.

I just want to see 2D sprite graphics come back.
FamilyGuy  +   775d ago
Blazblue not to your liking?
Godmars290  +   775d ago
Would like to see a few more Metal Slugs. Side scrolling beat em ups rather than fighters. Ones that don't look like flash games.

Have you tried Streets of Rage Remake by bombergames? It's awesome cause it feels, looks and plays exactly like the old Streets of Rage games with much more replayability.

Remake is awesome. I'm hoping for Sega to an HD remake too.

Didnt realized simpsons, final fight, and double dragon were actually considered fighting games. I've always known them to be sidescrolling beat'em ups but whatevers.
LastDance  +   775d ago
that's because they are.

I'd like to see Battle Arena: Toshinden make a comeback. Was a pretty average fighter, but it was unique and I had fun with it.

A good team that could inject some depth and variety would work wonders with the template.

Marvel Nemesis had potential but was handled by a shitty company

Does anyone remember star gladiator on psx? Used to love that game but i highly doubt we'll be seeing it again.

KrimsonKody  +   775d ago

I forgot all about Marvel Nemesis.
That game was so hot!
The fighting system was smooth & solid, & the story was decent.
Blankolf  +   775d ago

Mace the Dark Age.
EpicDome  +   775d ago
:D There's more then enough material in the comments for a second list of fighting games deserving a next gen release. Yes, it's technically a list of fighting,- co-op sidescrolling beat 'm up,- and super smash/brawl games. (did I miss something?) No 'title' material, so to speak. Thanks for the comments!
BillytheBarbarian  +   775d ago
Something that uses the aki engine again...wwf no mercy, def jam ny, wrestlemania 2000, nwo revenge, and muscle league.
