After a few days of speculation, Microsoft has confirmed that consumers will be able to re-sell their Xbox One systems if they choose to do so.
Theres always a catch though with these guys so what is it...
If you sell the thing it might come back to your doorstep like some bad 80's horror movie.
Great, but xbox won't work in my country, what should i do about that?
Don't buy it.
@Prcko why in the world would you live there #DealWithIt
Ding ding ding...
That's easy,you get a PS4
Dind Don Mattrick say buy xbox 360 lol
Take it you live somewhere in Eastern Europe ?
Get a Ps4
Buy a ps4
Well, that's one crisis averted.
The ONE crisis averted.. 99 more to go!
"The ONE crisis averted.. 99 more to go!" I think we can call it! 12:08 PM... Someone notify the family if you can find any.
It has 99 problems but selling it ain't one. Maybe I'll buy one now... I joke I joke. Make the games sellable and ill get one.
WOW well done M$. This is the first positive thing I've heard about X1 so far.
How about the restrictions?those are the main concerns for many gamers.
They need to clarify if that system gets banned. I imagine it will either be a $500 paper-weight or authorized dealers can reset the system.
It's the account, at least that's what they say. Plus if you can re sell, highly unlikely.
People jump on rumors so quickly as fact. Wonder why major news networks don't take the time to confirm their sources anymore? Because they want to be the first, even if it's wrong.
The search will continue and there will be many more attacks on MS, they are the new Anti-Christ.
Not Anti-Christ. Just anti-consumers.
yeah, thats the nice way of putting it. not many people have anything nice to say about the xbox one though, so I was just highlighting the current perception derived from fanboys, journalists, the uneducated and the paranoid androids
Maybe because they are hardware_lover's? ;)
lol i love how i now see some of the fans who will be going out to purchase the xbox are now suddenly saying yeah the customer support should be trusted" when only yesterday the same people said the customer support shouldn't be a valid source. but it is good to see that ms are at-least allowing you to sell it off once you decide its not the "one" for you
When your only good news is that some of your bad news isn't true...
..you're the PS4 at E3?
Good news, but what will be the process? Will it be as easy as resetting it to factory settings, then selling it? Do you have to notify Microsoft before you sell it? Still a bit murky.
Well let's see if N4G comes to this article to blow it up out of control.
They wont, just like 75% of all the other negative articles that aint true. Its cool to hate these days, thats how sad humanity has become.
Guys i give you an advice..if you buy the Xbox1 make sure you have read the restrictions gamestop has handed out and read the fine print well or let your parents to explain it further specially to teenagers and below..ask a techy friend to make sure you are getting your moneys worth..or to make it simple enough buy a PS4 lolz
All of us already know about those things, and we dont consider them to be restrictions. Il point it out one more time, people who buy an XB1: -Already are online 24/7 and rarely lose connection -Want to play the MS exclusives, instead of the Sony ones. -Dont care so much on trading in, but know we can still resell them on live, or authorized stores -Like being able to lend to 10 people around the globe. If you are like that, what is stopping a person from getting an XB1?
DRM. mandatory kinect that will keep spying on us and some people believe it won't because M$ said it won't. Why does it need to be connected at all times? Just to say Xbox On? You have a button on a console for that. M$ obviously have to cover that up somehow saiying you can turn off all kinect stuff off in the settings but still why do you need it connected again? Oh Ult iMate now to think about it maybe it's required because without it X1 would be $100 cheaper.
I already addressed DRM, and kinect is a bonus, not a restriction. Only people with tin foil hats believe kinect is spying. Same kind of people claim 911 was an inside job.
@Foxgod It's not a bonus, when it comes for additional $100 and you cannot turn it off.
You can turn it off, you can put it in sound more, or completely disable it when the power is down, and there is no way you could tell what the XB1 would cost without kinect, you just made an assumption.
Kinect is a bonus in the sense that it offers additional functionality, nobody said it was free.
My goodness Foxgod, Microsoft sure did see you coming. "Kinect is a bonus, not a restriction" LOL. Yeah, a bonus you HAVE to pay for and you HAVE to keep connected. Sure sounds like a bonus doesn't it? /s
@strigoi814.... nobody asked for your advice in this thread.
There are a bunch of Sony D#ck suckers on here. Be a damn gamer not a fanboy everytime M$ does something good or its not bad news its still a bunch of haters.
It's not about being a Sony fanboy. Microsoft by putting all those restrictions has screwed pretty much every gamer. Just because they said one good thing doesn't mean we will all love X1. You can sell PS4 as well and you will be able to get it everywhere in the world unlike X1 just 21 countries.
@DxTrixterz... nobody said because they said one good thing you had to love the X1. Its just the amount of sheer Sony Fanboys jumping on an X1 article saying stupid things on N4G gets old. The reason why this article is even up here is someone wrote an aritlce saying "you may not be able to sell your xbox one". Nobody would care about this had that first rumor not been thrown out. Just like nobody thinks "you can't sell your PS4" but had someone posted a rumor like that you can bet your ass people on N4G would flock to the article saying "Its cool, you can sell your PS4". And that reaction would be over joyed positive "sony cares about us".
MS being actually smart and giving people what they really want
LMAO yoo this the only question of the many that they chose to answer lol this is good tho
The rest has been answered, this was on of the latest questions that turned out to be bull.
the fact that people actually had to ask them if they could resell the system they bought with their own money.... its a sad day for xbox fans
No, it's a sad day for those on their anti-microsoft campaign........it was ignorant for anybody to think that you couldn't still your hardware.
?? not really because i never would of thought that a game console would go the route ms took.... and it wouldn't suprise me if they locked a single xbox to you could not resell it.....but i mean you cannot deny this hurts gamers more 100% more than it helps i mean if i can't afford my internet payment IE loss of job, or for whatever reason a 500$ piece of junk is what im left with with my hard earned money spent and nothing to show for it....shame on you for supporting millionaires and not the average gamer who just wants to unwind and enjoy their money spent
Shame on you for not realizing that video games are a hobby, and sometimes you are just unable to enjoy your hobby. If someone loses a job and can no longer have internet, then they might want to consider selling the paper weight for money to help pay some bills. When I moved cities, I didn't have the time for games, I was on my grind trying to get a job. Should consoles come with generators? What about gamers who can't afford power? Do I agree with Microsoft's policies..... not necessarily, but for the most part I am a conscious consumer, with a Wifi hot spot. Now what Microsoft should has done was include the cheap little Internet like the Kindle that just handles the check-ins.
Hey I still say buy the one that works for you and be happy.Stop all the bull, you get what u pay for not only in video games consoles but in life.If you love/hate MS so much that u feel u are getting screwed this time around then don't buy it.Yes I will be getting Xbox1 and if u think I'am wrong then guess what its my money and my choice and that's all that matters.Game on!
I agree....I was actually strongly considering the xbox one because of the NFL implementation, and other features showed at the reveal. I enjoy games, but love technology in general, and of course sports. Apparently I am one of the few people in the world that still watches live television. Throw in the games, and I will most likely keep the my preorder of the launch edition. Ps4 was a no brainer for me though.
Thats great but I dont plan on it. You csn also resell your ps4 which I plan to do for more money if its a hot item this christmas.
Good News for potentially Xbox One owners, I'm sure they will get a good console. even if I'm more a fan of Sony.
Ok you can sell your xbone but all the games you bought with it will have to be repaid a fee so the 2nd hand buyer can play them as he will have to register an account at KillitselfSoft xbone live and pay the second hand game fee....lol forget it M$, go for PS4 (more power for 100 bucks cheaper.)
That was obvious, they already said before that you could log in other accounts on your XOne and vice versa. The only question is: Who the hell would buy it?
How magnanimous of the greedy bastards.
