Dead Space isn't dead, but no-one's working on Dead Space 4 right now, EA confirms

Dead Space 4 isn't in development, EA has confirmed.
The news follows a report from March 2013 that claimed EA had canned the Dead Space series following poor sales of Dead Space 3 and closed down developer Visceral. EA denied this at the time. (Dead Space, EA, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Dead Space is already dead to most fans anyway

Yup...it died for me when they first announced co-op for the third game. I didn't even need to see a screenshot or trailer to know it was going to be a horrible DS game.

Agree!

Dead space 1 was the best, then they started to put the action element and then the game lost its identity.

Yup, No 1 was what people wanted from Resi. No 2 changed a bit but not too much, but it was a start towards more action.
I'll only play no 3 when it arrives on PS+ IGC.

Yeah, i'm one of those who didn't even pick up Dead Space 3 yet. It's too bad though, it could've been a great ride with someone else in control.

lol I haven't gotten dead space 3 yet either.

I'll pick it up from the bargain bin for less than $20 if I ever decide to play it.

So in other words, it's dead. Activision said the same thing about Guitar Hero. This is a company known for killing off quality franchises, among other stupid things.

Nothin' to see here folks.

The only good games from ea are from dice.
DarkBlood  +   596d ago
that includes mirror edge right?
nick309  +   596d ago
Mirrors edge is dice's best

Good job EA, start to learn and appreciate new IPs :D

I worry for Mirror's Edge 2, i have a feeling EA are gonna shoehorn necessary MP and kinect capabilities and god knows what else into it, and then end up killing the franchise much like with Dead Space

If there ever is a new DeadSpace they should start with a new character and go back to their roots in DS1 before they went all action-y.

Why do People say that ds1 was best . And 3 was bad.

Its more then that ds1 everything was new new wolrd weapons monsters and feel. Issac is a mess hes a silant protagonist and it fits the game extrudes tension and fear .. but even changing locations wouldnt keep that feeling alive. For a sequal as isac is no longer. New to the necros hes learning ds2 he knows to go for limbs and what works terror receeds to fear as his confidence grows I can do this is the general attitude to the 2nd. The 3rd issacs damaged but stronger mentally he knows the necromorph threat inside and out. He has conquered his own mind at least partially its why he doesnt see things . Fear is replaced by a sense of damger and an addrinline rush as hes using his skills and taking the fight to them to survive.

In a 4th unless the choose a new hero it would be him going to war against them. Itseevolution of heros when a hero gets to strong they get boring
The coop of 3 was completely optional and well done it didint really detract from the feel .
