Gears of War Xbox One will take "some time", says Microsoft

Microsoft's E3 2013 presser may have been epic, but it wasn't quite Epic - the creators of Gears of War were conspicuous by their absence. Pushed for an explanation, the publisher's Phil Spencer has suggested that the franchise needs to "spend some time" away from the limelight, both for its own good and to make room for new IP.

"Oh no"

Umm no that's great, gives them time to refresh the series and make it innovative. A slight Gears absence is only good for the fans and the devs.

When its ready it will make a bang on the scene. Meanwhile I'm looking at Destiny, Titanfall, Ryse and Quantum Breaks as my anticipated.

I was being sarcastic, usually people type down more then just "oh no" when they actually care.

AngelicIceDiamond Agreed, everything, everybody needs a break.

I think its good the series is taking a break 4 games in one generation. Its the only multiplayer game on 360 i keep comin back to. As much as I love Gears it deserves a rest.

Couldn't have said it better!

I'd rather Epic create something fresh instead of another Gears

Awww, I want it to be multiplatform.

The Xbox One needs all the exclusives it can get. It needs a lot of help right now.

People are funny. The consoles have not even launched yet. MS has a serious hurdles with the DRM crap and the 24 hr internet check-in, but so far the games should be it's strong point.
