PS3, Xbox 360, Wii Can't Hold a Match to Old-school Game Systems

While the rest of the gaming world is engaged in a viciously heated battle over which game console rules supreme, there is a group of silent gamers that goes about its business without a word. Those mysterious few are gamers who don't buy into the hype of the "next-gen" war - for them, the best consoles are the ones no longer in production.

Of course not. They set the foundation to everything we know and love about gaming today. They maybe old but certainly not forgotten.

Harry1905872d ago

come to think of it,
it's not going to be long before the ps1
will be considered as retro.

Super Mario World and the Donkey Kong Country's aren't hard... Except K. Rool at the end of DKC 2, it always takes me 2 tries to beat him. These guys need to try Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within or Ninja Gaiden.

games4fun5872d ago

uncharted on crushing, that is one hard difficulty level imo also the original ninja gaidens are hard for nintendo

sumfood4u5872d ago

i really perfer NEs over Atari an Intelevision!

otherZinc5872d ago

I'm not one of those guys who just tried an Atari, I lived that generation. Atari & Pong consoles were all we had at the time. I was with my Mom when she paid $400 for an Atari 2600 at sears when I was 10 years old in 1978. It was fantastic!

Fast forward to 2008: there is no way in Hell those consoles are better than what we are playing & doing with them today.

They shouldn't let some people write anything, this guy didn't even have Contra 3 Alien Wars for his SNES.

Maybe this guy should try something other than the PS3 if he isn't satisfied with todays consoles.

DrPIRATE: I'm with him, consoles are better with each new instalment.

I perfer Psone over all. Every game I played for it was fun.

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

darthv7218h ago

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.
